Other thread is older than 90 days*Ive got a pair of Sperry Boat Shoes that have developed a wonderful aroma... Is there any good way to wash them? I thought about putting the inserts in the washing machine, but im not sure if they would get damaged. Anyone got any ideas?[Edited on August 31, 2009 at 11:04 AM. Reason : .]

I soaked mine in water for a bit, scraped out the disgusting crap, set them outside to dry, sprayed some of that foot odor stuff in there... and that helped a lot

put them in a big freezer bag and freeze the stink out...supposedly this is the sperry stink miracle cure

Buy new ones. You wear Sperry's, that must mean you have money to blow, right?

two things1) throw them out. you wont get the smell out. it will only come right back when you start wearing them again...i tried cold, bleach, febreeze, baby powder, boiling water.....nothing worked2) buy some good cedar shoe trees and use them in the new ones. they will prevent this from happening again. do it will all your shoes actually they'll last longer and smell better[Edited on August 31, 2009 at 9:24 PM. wash your motherfuckin feet when you take showers

your feet are sweating inside hot leather shoes, what do you think they are going to smell like?

I think ill give the freezing thing a try, and the baby powder, I have never had a problem with shoe odor before these, I guess they are special

I might try this freezer trick as well, just to see.I shower every day and wash my feet and my shoes still are developing an odor. It's just what happens when you wear your shoes and walk places in them. I've been walking across the shipyard frequently and it's taking a toll on the shoes.

if you happen to machine wash the inserts, definitely do so by themselves.
