except that in a TRUE OBO situation, the fact that you would not make good on the $1001 offer means that it would, by default, go to me for $1000 as the only valid best offer...so i still win! haha!

it is kind of funny, though...i think dumb people assume OBO is what is supposed to come after the asking price, even though they don't really understand what it means...of course i'm just teasing in this thread, but it IS kind of dumb to say OBO when you have no intention of following through with it

if you're going to say something you have no intention of doing, you should put something like "free blowjob" or "you may also take nude photos of me on the bike" to entice people to pay what you're asking (because heaven knows, she ain't gonna get $1700 $1800 for that bike)

The seller is not OBLIGATED to sell anything. so if your "best offer" is lower than she is willing to sell it for she has just as much right to take it off the market due to lack of demand as you had a right to bid. Also the Best Offer doesn't have an end date posted. Therefore she could very well just tell you to stfu and keep it until something better comes along. This includes if she wants to keep it. The best offer in this case could very well be her option of keeping it.

dumb people do this all the time because they're too stupid to realize what the words actually MEAN (i suppose they can pretend the mean anything they want, but that doesn't make it true)...if they actually thought about it (which they don't, which is why they're stupid), they'd put their minimum up and say FIRM or put up their asking price and note "price negotiable"...OBO means something (technically) and dumbasses use it in a way that makes no sense: "or if i can't sell it for what i want, i will entertain other offers, but i may not accept them because i think my stuff is worth more than you do"

she won't get $1800 for that bike...it's a scooter on a big frame (i should know, i have one), it's 7 years old, and it's the end of the riding season...she's stupid
