A documentary on the electric guitar from the point of view of three significant rock musicians: the Edge, Jimmy Page and Jack White.http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1229360/#commentThe previews for this look awesome! Unfortunately, it's limited release, so it won't come to my town until September. Has anyone seen the trailers for this?

Interesting, but I don't feel that Jack White was that good of a choice even though I think many people on here will disagree with me. I've just always found him overrated as a guitar player - though I can admit a lot of that probably just has to do with the fact that I haven't really enjoyed hardly any band hes been a part of. Then again The Edge is pretty overrated too even though I like early U2 material, but I can sorta see why they might pick him.[Edited on August 12, 2009 at 9:03 AM. Reason : ]

I'm kinda the opposite in that I'm really interested in seeing Jack White but couldn't care less about The Edge. We'll be getting this at Galaxy, btw, whenever it comes out.

Well I'm not that excited to see The Edge either as I think he is overrated as well His lengthy career in the spotlight and influence is what got him this slot no doubt. And that whole soaring sound and the stereo delay effects he writes around that bands like coldplay have copped off of etc. But I dono, overall its just kind of a weird choice of guitar players if you are looking at electric guitar playing. Though I guess with a choice of 3 it makes it pretty tough. I just don't know that The Edge or Jack White revolutionized guitar playing enough to make the short list. /shrug

Jack White is REALLY funny. Even though I don't think he's the best musician, he's a great entertainer, thus I think he's an excellent choice for the film. After all, you want people who will be entertaining to watch.

oh I understand, I'll probably still check it out, I was just being picky

No one said White or The Edge revolutionized anything.

White and the Edge revolutionized everything.

The Edge took Frippertronics and put it in wide songwriting context. I'd say that's pretty damn impressive and influential.

I thought The Edge was a band or something. U2 sucks.
