with a lower resolution and lower processor speed, it's not Apple hardware, won't run OS X, and it just happens to be on SD... yet you're comparing the two?it's a little more complicated than that
7/29/2009 7:31:28 PM
not to mention that after over a year of using that thing 8+ hours a day it'd probably be fucking falling apart. the hinges would be floppy as shit, power adapter would probably be broken, some plastic part of the case would be cracked, etc.not so much with apple

$875 takes it

ok yea, you're crazy. so is the fool that buys it for that much.

You aren't very familiar with the value of macbook pro's.

eBay completed listings tell me $700+ w/ at least a 120GB HDD (none had 80 gig drives), and $30ish for an extra plug]

^^Those G550's are pretty flimsy. The parents have one and haven't liked it much. They're fine for a home-use computer that will sit in the living room or den all the time maybe, but that's about it. The hinges do not hold up to much and the battery life is pretty terrible even right after purchase. It also lacks a decent GPU+dedicated video RAM. It's not at all comparable to the particular computer he's offering. Now, for 399 it's not a bad deal- but your suggestion is either disingenuous or very ill informed.

I completely forgot when the back to school offer ended and wanted to buy a macbook pro 13.3" 2.53Ghz for someone with free ipod.....is the offer still available? or any good offers on this model?
