Sanford
6/24/2009 5:49:52 PM
I give the guy points for style. He's not fucking trailer trash or chubby interns, this guy is nailing a South American broad. To risk all that for some trim, she'd better be amazing.
6/24/2009 5:57:59 PM
AT this point, you may want to consider running a ham sammich.
6/24/2009 6:45:54 PM
6/24/2009 8:44:15 PM
PAT BUCHANAN
6/25/2009 1:56:01 PM

6/25/2009 2:20:06 PM
^closeit's actually gonna be Cole Trickle
6/25/2009 3:20:07 PM
is jindal out? i mean yeah he had a pretty shitty response to the obama dnc speech. but that doesn't completely discount him.
6/25/2009 3:21:50 PM
^said he was gonna run for re-election in 2011, Louisiana has elections in odd years.
6/25/2009 3:26:04 PM
so? politicians lie about their intentions for running for positions ALL the time.
6/25/2009 3:31:00 PM
6/25/2009 3:38:16 PM
^ Wow.Romney is the only one I see right now--he will obviously tout his business and economic experience. And he looks the part. But he certainly has his own unique set of challenges, and I have trouble believing much of anything he says--he just strikes me as a typical politician.
6/25/2009 3:46:50 PM
I like Newt a lot. He's one of my top five favorite republicans.
6/25/2009 8:19:37 PM
Christopher Walken
6/26/2009 2:19:12 AM
I actually hope it's Palin. She'll provide a lot of entertainment.
6/26/2009 1:33:07 PM
I supported Romney in this past election cycle, but I don't think he's going anywhere. As I remember, Romney wasn't good enough for the white evangelical christian right... he had to make several speeches about his Mormon background. As far as I know, the evangelical right is STILL the bible bangin' evangelical right... and distancing themselves further and further from the base. The Republican party is going to be a no show in 2012.
6/26/2009 1:58:04 PM
obviously i'm ignorant, but wasn't there talk of T. Boone Pickens sometime???
6/26/2009 2:53:12 PM
^he's 81 years old, according to wikipedia
6/26/2009 3:21:20 PM
whatever happened to the pickens plan?
6/26/2009 3:28:58 PM
wasn't implemented because, contrary to popular belief, billionaires cannot enact their own policies without help
6/26/2009 4:28:33 PM
i'd vote for Romney if he were running against anyone other than Obama
6/26/2009 4:46:13 PM
so what is appealing about Romney aside from the fact that he has stayed out of trouble?he basically did all but admit he switched position on everything from gay marriage to immigration to health care for the purpose of getting the nomination last time, and then he proceeded to buy his way to a few delegates. surely this is the future.[Edited on June 26, 2009 at 4:48 PM. I'm voting for Biden. At least I know he has the balls to criticize Barry.Well, maybe Hillary will do.Romney? Really, in a postlogical world you really want to run that hairpiece against the rock-star?
6/27/2009 1:40:27 AM
http://www.vanityfair.com/politics/features/2009/08/sarah-palin200908?currentPage=1Vanity Fair has a huge article on Palin. She's a megalomaniac apparently, but wouldnt this just make her a typical politician? It's a good thing she has nutty political positions too, because that alone wouldn't really have been enough to discount her.
7/1/2009 3:26:49 AM
hope the repub runs on huckabees one page tax return thing
7/1/2009 3:45:16 AM
7/2/2009 1:38:11 PM
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0209/19443.htmlRomney seems to be the front-runner. Sad that the Republicans' best hope is a Mormon (I don't care, but it's a big deal to a lot of people). Only person of that group I could see myself supporting, despite his opposition to abortion, is Ron Paul. Too bad since he's a real conservative he'd never be nominated.
7/7/2009 12:22:09 PM
neal boortz go
7/7/2009 2:29:14 PM
^^sad the dems last hope was a half negro muslim? if obama can win romney surely could win
7/7/2009 2:33:10 PM
Ron Paul winning would be the death of "libertarianism." If he got elected and actually tried to shut down the government and remove regulations on business, people would quickly see how nutty those ideas are, and never utter the "L" word again.
7/7/2009 4:29:09 PM
If any reasonable Libertarian plan were to be implemented in the US, it would have to involve either a complete re-write and overhaul of the Constitution (would never happen) or a gradual phase-down over multiple decades (would also never happen). Any attempt to massively decrease the size of the federal government within just one presidential term would be completely doomed to failure, regardless of the merit small-government philosophies may have... something too many RP supporters and Libertarian party members fail to realize. You can't just snap your fingers and make government programs disappear -- it would cause chaos. Also, he needs to get off of that Gold Standard bullshit. Not only does it just detach him from all the voters that don't give a shit about it, but the premise it relies on isn't even remotely close to being solid (the idea that gold has some inherent level of value and not a value set by market prices and culture/society).
7/7/2009 4:41:03 PM
^ pretty much, except I bet it could be done over 8 years fairly comfortably. People are really adaptable. And I forgot about the gold standard nonsense.------------------------------------------------------------------http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2009-07-07-palin-poll_N.htmpoll shows that Palin still has support of the Republicans, on par with Hillary at the same time before this past election.
7/7/2009 4:51:58 PM
so i guess its safe to say that palin is the hillary clinton of the republican party?
7/7/2009 4:59:40 PM
Except Hillary is still serving her government even though she didn't get be president like she wanted.
7/7/2009 6:18:13 PM
7/7/2009 6:24:09 PM
KEEP LAUGHING, CHUCKLENUTS
7/7/2009 6:28:45 PM
haha
7/7/2009 6:31:42 PM
actually John Boehner might not be a bad candidate.
7/7/2009 6:59:22 PM
7/7/2009 7:48:03 PM
7/7/2009 8:19:41 PM
^^With that I was more or less referring to adding additional restrictions on what, specifically, the government is not permitted to do... and essentially adding provisions to ensure that it is actually followed in practice. Besides that, a "new" Constitution would be much harder to completely ignore than an "old" Constitution.
7/7/2009 9:17:37 PM
oh, trust me, democrats would find a way to ignore the new Constitution
