i personally use textpad most of the time, but i know that there are lots of options out there depending on your usage. certainly you can find one better than notepad.

i love notepad, it is the easiest too to use, with no complications

i have access to notepad++, wordpad etc
but for taking quick notes and organizing information, i use notepad

also use excel extensively for many things, finance, schedule, etc
