I support Israel's right to exist, and their right to defend themselves.

They are heavy-handed, but they have learned over the last 70 years that there is no negotiating with opposing forces that wish them dead. Their enemies, by and large, do not respect any truces, cease-fires, peace processes or agreements. How do you work with that? By defending yourself by any means necessary.

No one has said they wanted to wipe them off the map. the fact that this misinformation has not been corrected for some is just frightening. the countries in question feel the legitimacy of the israeli government is in question, given the many resolutions against them that have not been adhered to and their continuous unwillingness to adhere to treaties and agreements. the preemptive doctrine by which they live also brings the political forces which rule israel in question for many, and not just those who are around them.

israel has more less shot down any real chance of negotiating for peace. its not an issue of others wanting israel dead as much as it is an unwillingness of israel to provide any acceptable compromise or adhere to the necessary restraints on expansion. truces are often respected, but the continued development is what removes the potential long lasting worth of any such treaties. not to mention the concentration camps in which they keep those in the gaza and the prisoners they refuse to release. they aren't defending themselves. in many ways they are the aggressors.

Not supporting the US-Isreal alliance but it really doesn't matter what the US does, they would just find another reason to hate/attack the US. And even if the US some how stopped it's alliance with Isreal in 1969 they would have still done it because of the past mistakes of the US.

One of my good friends is Jew, parents from Israel, and she knows Israel is a piece of shit. So does much of the educated Jewish youth in Israel.
