June 22nd - July 5th 2009TV Coverage: NBC, ESPN and Tennis Channel (anyone know how this works?)Looks like NBC will be streaming the matches tooSeeds released: http://www.wralsportsfan.com/tennis/story/5372099/iPhone AppScoresWho's your pick? For the guys I gotta go with Fed. He's got 5 wins there, is coming off his first French win....and Nadal is having knee issues and coming off his first ever loss at the French.http://www.wimbledon.org/en_GB/news/articles/2009-06-09/200906091244564970876.htmlAnd for the women...I just hope Venus doesn't win. I'm gonna take the safe bet and say it'll be a Russian ]
6/17/2009 11:10:24 AM
nice, 5 days! federer ftw but i will continue to hope for a roddick miraclei agree with all your stuff on the women's side, no venus, and yes a russian
6/17/2009 11:19:38 AM
i'm pulling for murray this year. he won queen's club. hopefully he can pull off the first british single's victory in generations.
6/17/2009 11:21:57 AM
at wimbeldon, pete samprass >>> all comers
6/17/2009 11:28:23 AM
im curious to see how Soderling plays here. I am assuming they have updated the world rankings and Soderling should be seeded in the top 15/16. The best finish he's had at Wimbledon was 3rd round, two times.I think Murray will advance pretty deep but lose in the quarters. Could see a Murray/Nadal rematch. The gentlemen's draw is selected at 10am on Friday morning.Federer wins 2009 Wimbledon and breaks the record in front of watchful Pete Sampras. Federer etches his name as arguably the greatest single athlete of all time.PS: i cannot believe that Federer is not the #1 seed. Nadal got it...that's shocking to me.[Edited on June 17, 2009 at 12:01 PM. Reason : .]

^greatest in tennis. if he say, won more titles than everybody else combined in one year, he would be better than babe ruth. if you took away all his wimbeldons and he was still the highest on titles, better than wayne gretzkeyif the other player was allowed to hit him instead of the ball, better than say, johnny unitis.
6/17/2009 12:03:16 PM
Is Nadal's knees 100%? If not, got to go with Federer. If so, I think it's a toss-up b/w both of them.
6/17/2009 4:37:21 PM
i think Soderling's ranking after the French Open went to #12ish
6/17/2009 4:43:43 PM

Nadal is taking this thing. back2back.Good article in NY Times Sunday Magazine about Rafa's journey to the top of the tennis world:http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/21/magazine/21nadal-t.html?ref=magazine
6/17/2009 7:37:52 PM
no way nadal wins this. i'm not 100% on federer winning it. but nadal has shown a lot of weakness recently. maybe it's just injury. but either way he's not taking wimbledon. he had to play one of the best matches of his life to win it last year when he was at the top of his game. and he's down right now. i don't see it.
6/17/2009 9:32:01 PM
Nadal lost 4 and 3 to Hewitt. says he will decide friday.Monfils pulled out with a wrist injury
6/18/2009 5:02:15 PM
^good, i hate that doucher because of the french roddick match
6/18/2009 5:08:26 PM
damn sharapova is back in to the top 25 alreadyman I have some mild premonition that roddick might actually be able to take this, only if fed gets eliminated beforehand though[Edited on June 18, 2009 at 5:40 PM. Reason : k]

6/18/2009 5:49:56 PM
Fed ftw!

nadal outhttp://sports.espn.go.com/sports/tennis/news/story?id=4272537
6/19/2009 2:31:20 PM
ah damn that sucks, I guess that means fed can prob take back the number one spot which I'm pretty sure the anaylsts were saying very rarely happens
6/19/2009 8:24:51 PM
what, someone taking back the number one ranking after losing it? if so, i don't think it's that rare. the williams sisters have both done it more than once.
6/19/2009 8:35:25 PM
I think had Nadal had an easier draw he would have tried to defend his title. But he wants to win the US Open to complete his career grand slam.
6/19/2009 11:13:52 PM
that'd be insane if he didtwo players completing the career grand slam in the same year
6/19/2009 11:19:42 PM
6/19/2009 11:51:34 PM
i think nadal should have trieddont over aggress anything to compromise the us open or any future events, but just go out and try and do what you canbut then again yes,,, i dont feel his knee pain and what it possibly is or is not

i think davydenko can make a good run.roddick has a pretty easy ride into the 4th, but i expect him to lose there, as he always does. again, i really want to see Soderling do well after his French performance. he could face Fed in the 4th rd. and Andy Murray could make a splash into the semi's with the draw that he has. then again, he could be the England's next Tim Henman. le sigh.i usually love underdogs, but i really want Fed to win again, and then win the US Open. he is the quintessential champion, and to me belongs in the ranks of the greatest athletes of all time. i want to see him make history.so pumped for the action this fortnight!!! check out espn's interactive draw to see potential matchups. pretty awesome [Edited on June 21, 2009 at 7:37 PM. 6/21/2009 7:33:12 PM
you know roddick has reached the wimbledon finals twice....
6/22/2009 1:43:43 AM
no rafa means easy pickings for fedBORING
6/22/2009 4:18:28 AM
damn one of the lineswomen in the djokovic/benneteau match has an unfathomable rack (for a lineswoman)
6/22/2009 1:30:04 PM
sharapova looked real sexy and played pretty well besides her serve, unfortunetly she hasn't lost a step in her shrieking though
6/22/2009 6:50:14 PM
6/22/2009 11:27:17 PM
that return of Murray's serve that Kendrick just made to win the 2nd set was sahweeeet
6/23/2009 1:34:43 PM
This is Britain's great white hope?
6/23/2009 1:37:30 PM
he's the only one, dude, what the fuck do you think
6/23/2009 1:38:15 PM
Doesn't have any answer for Kendrick's serve and looks rattled out there.
6/23/2009 1:49:42 PM
I don't know the results, but I'm going to guess that set was a fluke for whatever the american's name was, and murray won in 4amirite? amirite?
6/23/2009 5:28:12 PM
roddick through in 4 sets i believe.
6/23/2009 9:32:24 PM

6/24/2009 3:20:38 AM
6/24/2009 10:14:54 AM

6/24/2009 11:29:05 AM
sharapova's out?! WTF
6/24/2009 2:11:51 PM
^^i have this fetish when we're in bed and she's been working on a particular shriekwell, i heard the perfect shriek late in the 2nd set and sent her a text telling her which one...and for her to get back to me immediately before she forgot itso yea she had to throw the 3rd set...sorry but thats the breaks
6/24/2009 10:03:21 PM
the girl that beat maria is kind of sexy though
6/25/2009 2:04:22 AM
i didnt realize that only the first 3 courts have hawkeye/shotspot capability
6/25/2009 2:39:02 PM
yeah they have to have lots of cameras and i guess that gets expensive when there are 20 courts.
6/25/2009 3:11:57 PM
im thinking a lot of it has to do with available angles to put cameras
6/25/2009 3:16:29 PM
are the french and english against playing tennis under lights?
6/25/2009 3:34:48 PM
yea, basically
6/25/2009 3:35:20 PM
