I'll cut you so bad.Just wait till you see my board with a rusty nail in it.
6/15/2009 5:07:18 PM
Now, if they'll simply outlaw the slitting of throats, this could work. MORE GOVERNMENT IS THE ANSWER!
6/15/2009 5:11:58 PM
This is comedy gold.
6/15/2009 5:19:43 PM
Please, would someone tell me which media outlet you conservatives follow that is constantly linking to the UK about shit? Last I checked, it was drudge, is that where this one came from too?
6/15/2009 5:28:34 PM
sounds to me like an enterprising, entrepreneur's dream!
6/15/2009 6:26:35 PM
newsflash...if it can cut something, it can probably cut people, too
6/15/2009 6:36:22 PM
This is so stupid.
6/15/2009 6:37:39 PM
haha capitalism has a sense of humor
6/15/2009 6:42:50 PM
Wait, wut?
6/15/2009 6:46:46 PM
surely the criminals won't be able to get a pointy knife
6/15/2009 6:49:52 PM
The anti-stab lobby discovers a flaw in their logic:
6/15/2009 6:51:50 PM
I didn't notice that the British government has anything to do with this.
6/15/2009 7:10:57 PM
^ YOU GET OUT OF HERE WITH YOUR LOGICYOU'RE JUST TRYING TO TAKE OUR KNIVES AWAYYOU ARE ANTI KNIFE AND ANTI FREEDOM
6/15/2009 7:23:16 PM
^^ I figure with the UK sword ban, it's just a matter of time.
6/15/2009 7:30:15 PM
i bet it would be really tough to sharpen it to a point, or just snap the blunt tip of it offor use it as a slashing/cutting weaponor use some other pointy objector another type of weapon entirelyor find yourself a normal knife...

Britain sure is damned silly. When there was an article a while back about the police in London or somesuch putting on a display of knives confiscated from "criminals" in an effort to make the consequences of "knife crime" more well-known, the picture consisted of what looked like a bunch of dirty kitchen knives (maybe 10-18 or so) that were surrounded by an absolute SEA of photographers that were going batshit crazy to take some photo of a pile of shitty knives. What an assbackwards view on crime.

They could probably make it a bit more safer by removing the metal part and just leave the handle.Wouldn't cut very well, but people could sleep better at night.
6/15/2009 10:12:15 PM
I find it hard to get upset or worked-up over a guy trying to make a buck on Britain's knife-crime issues. In fact, I find it hard to get upset or worked-up over any of the UK's weapon laws. Their constitution (such as it is) doesn't refer to a right to bear arms. If their people want to legislate their weapons out of existence, that's their concern. Frankly, I don't think it's very wise to hand over the people's ultimate, albeit weak, counter to autocratic governments. But if I spent all my time getting in a tizzy about Europeans doing things I think are stupid, I wouldn't have any time left to drink and write papers at the last minute.

You can still jab it in somebody's eye.

It's just amazing to me that it sounds like Great Britain is a state that seems to be legislated by a large group of paranoid mothers from Cary.

"thats not a knife . . . . . . , This is a KNIFE"~Crocodile Dundee~
6/16/2009 8:17:13 AM
this is retarded. I wouldn't be surprised if this happened eventually in our country. "What's your problem? Do you want people to get stabbed!!?? Regulating knives will improve the health and welfare of everyone!!! Don't ask me for evidence, I mean its just common sense right????"
6/17/2009 7:50:02 AM
This would never, EVER happen in America. We give our children swiss army knives when they become boy scouts, and sell super-sweet knife sets 24/7 on cable TV. Also, we have West Virginia.
6/17/2009 8:15:00 AM
^ 20 years ago, I'm sure most people would say the same thing about banning public smoking in North Carolina. Things change. And the biggest thing I see changing is that more people are willing to accept the role of state and federal governments as "Nanny-in-Chief".
6/17/2009 9:24:05 AM
we have all kinds of safety shit like this in the US
6/17/2009 11:00:53 AM
^^^ That's true, but bear in mind what I said about this line of thinking being akin to that of a bunch of paranoid sheltered suburbanite mothers.Everything is dangerous to them, and they're constantly planning and working to get everything in the known universe banned "for the children."Soon they'll try to ban plastic bottled drinks because not only is it certain that they HAVE to have BPA and everybody KNOWS that BPA makes your willy turn blue and causes girls to be bitchy on their periods, but it ALSO is the #0 source for all jenkem vessels used in the united states by the children.

We already came out with something similar...An anti-shooting gun
