you needs to check your fuel pressure first, you have one of two things happening, assuming you dont have a fuel pressure test gauge:if it starts and then shuts back off after a few seconds i would suspect the fuel pump relay firstif the relay checks out ok, your ecm is definately sending the prime signal, so your next problem is the oil pressure switchto check the oil pressure switch, take out the fuel pump relay, and with a heavy paper clip jump from the 87 to 30 terminals where it plugs in onthe vehicle, you dont need the relay plugged in to do it, the numbers are on the bottom of the relaythe fuel pump should turn on and the vehicle should run, if not, replace your fuel filter, and if it still wont run, you have a bad fuel pump[Edited on June 13, 2009 at 8:24 PM. Reason : how many miles, 60-75k is about normal for fuel pump failures]

just dropped in a brand new fuel pump, relays, fuel filter and tried the cam shaft sensor last week still havin the issue. 129k , 5.7 vortec. after changin up my google searches i came across the possibility of it being the fuel pressure regulator any thoughts on that

doubt it, you really need a fuel pressure test gauge to get a handle on things, to tell what pressure it is running, when it dies off, etc, but after all that info that you left out of the original post, it sounds like the oil pressure switch, there should be a single green connector not plugged into anything by your battery with a red wire, jump that to battery positive and see if it runs, then report back

that really doesnt solve your problem though, it'll just get you farther from home before it happens again
