it sounds like she wants to play murder mystery at the rehearsal dinner or something and some of the members of his family probably don't want to play. So instead of being an adult and working around that she throws a temper tantrum, repeatedly calls his family stupid, and interrupts him with yelling every time he tries to speak. i think the show is predominately unscripted but the people say things they would not otherwise say because they know that they're being filmed for television. certain instances, e.g. the cake destruction, i do think are scripted and planned just for added flare.
