I haven't listened to all the songs, but what happens if you run a cello through a distortion filter/pedal thing?
6/7/2009 12:26:09 AM
the second track ("gone") happens[Edited on June 7, 2009 at 12:27 AM. Reason : .]

why are you using this website, you need to win, asap.
6/7/2009 12:32:56 AM
you should try to rephrase that into something sober people can understand.
6/7/2009 12:33:54 AM
I like it too... it's fits in to the "whimsical" kick i've been on recently.I was a little disappointed there was not more electronic sounds like from the intro in the rest of the songs.[Edited on June 7, 2009 at 12:38 AM. Reason : ]
6/7/2009 12:37:42 AM
this can't be a true entertainment thread without haters. c'mon guys. i know you're out there.^well the electronic stuff is my brother's doing. he actually does some solo stuff that you can find here:http://www.reverbnation.com/bolesthe band was actually a solo project of his to begin with. so some of the songs from the band are on his site in their original and/or demo forms.we more or less did the band stuff as we do it live (minus an added flourish here or there). HAH.my post was perfectly sober.not really, but it's understandable.come now.
6/7/2009 12:40:36 AM
perhaps. perhaps.
6/7/2009 12:46:37 AM
play at the spazzatorium galleria in greenville and I will go. you share three syllables already.
6/7/2009 12:48:31 AM
and my favorite of my brother's stuff on the page i linked above is "gainesville" which is actually a cover of a song from a band i was in at the time. confusing, huh?v yeah. . . see edit.[Edited on June 7, 2009 at 12:57 AM. Reason : .]
6/7/2009 12:55:38 AM
the only confusing part is your use of the word "that".or maybe 'that's because of my current state.
6/7/2009 12:57:04 AM
you need a new singer
6/7/2009 9:29:20 AM
^ yeah, or he needs some training. He has a "distinctive voice" that has an interesting edge to it, but he misses too many notes. He's struggling to go to marginally high notes, and he's simply off-key every few measures. And his volume needs to be pulled back on most of the tracks - his voice is way too "out front" of everything else, which is too bad, because it's the weakest part of the songs. maybe some vocal training could help his pitch and range some
6/7/2009 9:41:47 AM
DUDE THIS ALBUM IS GAY U GUYS ARE FAGS
6/7/2009 10:03:53 AM
i like the instrumentals, but the singer definitely needs some work
6/7/2009 10:40:25 AM
see that's what i'm talking about! negative criticism.
6/7/2009 11:36:40 AM
love the cello, album needs more dave matthews though.
6/7/2009 11:37:21 AM
bonus points for anyone who can name the song i inadvertently ripped off on the cello part on "frp"[Edited on June 7, 2009 at 11:50 AM. Reason : .]

IVE NEVER HEARD A WORSE SOUND
6/7/2009 1:10:06 PM
sounds good man. Its not really my style, but for what you were going for I think it sounds pretty good. Good luck!
6/7/2009 1:29:26 PM
i agree with others that the singer needs a bit improvement but otherwise sounds good. Also the frp cello sounds similar to Pirates of the Caribbean theme music
6/7/2009 1:42:22 PM
interesting sound...agree with the singer comments...also, the first 15 seconds of "cutoff" the drums are pretty off beat and it takes a while to un-muddle (if that makes any sense)
6/7/2009 1:56:11 PM
I listened to linda and i thought the singer was the most interesting thing in that song. He has a unique voice so don't be afraid to keep him in front of things. Reminds me of Colin Meloy. If he is planning on getting vocal lessons that's great news! I'm glad that autotune was not mentioned as an alternative.
