I searched through the last couple old threads before making a new one. If the 10th thread down the last has my question than
i apologize ahead of time.

Wanting to tint my car I wanted to see if the garage thinks the premium for Formula One (Pinnacle Series) tint is worth the cost.
Formula one in a Ceramic film instead of the dye/metal combination films usually sold. The tint has lifetime fading, bubbling,
peeling, cracking, and hazing warranty like the normal film but also has an additional warranty against fading which effects heat rejection.
The film is also supposed to be far superior against glare.

Place in wilmington quoted about $200 for the normal Llmar Film (ATR series) $300 for the Formula One (pinnacle series); is this worth the
extra $100?

F1 used to do good work, I had two vehicles done there, but I have head it's gone downhill.

TVPAUTO.com is by far the best around here IMO.

Took my Acura RL there and the job was Top Notch and far better than what I had done by a shop in Durham on my old Explorer years and years ago.

My roommate just recently had his rx8 tinted at TVP. That shit is damn nice looking, I'd get a quote from them as well.

I just bought a Jeep that has factory tint on the rear seat and back liftgate windows; not having the front tinted is really bothering me, is it hard for tint places to match the tint all around?

Well, the factory tint in the back is probably darker than it'd be legal to tint the front windows in NC.

They should be able to test the front and rear windows and, if it's possible, put a similar % tint on it with a similar color. I bet any company would be happy to give you a quote and tell you if it's possible.

i had the pinnacle tint installed on my truck about a month after i got it so i guess it's been on there now for 2 years 4.5 months. it looks just like the day it was installed but hell wouldn't any other tint that's only been on for such short time?

I've always wondered; do people have a big problem if they say are in NC where the limit is 35% and drive through a state like Pennsylvania where the limit is 70%. Stuff like a radar detector i can take down when i cross into Va but seems kinda rediculous for the cops to expect a law abiding citizen with a tinted car in NC to refrain from driving to his state since the law there is 70%.

You can not get a tint ticket for a state the car is not registered in. Even though my truck is registered in another state its in NC 98% of the time, so I don't have to worry about my 20% tint.

i have heard that the metal tints can reduce the effectiveness of a radar detector. i know a guy that got ceramic tint for that reason. i have not really done any research to verify if this is true.
