Paging PrufrockNCSUAre we doing this again this year? You started last years thread in June and I almost missed it.Not so so fast my friend!
6/4/2009 12:14:41 PM
do it for money50 bucks, 100 whatever
6/4/2009 12:25:37 PM
i want ini was just talking with a buddy yesterday about the fantasy football itch starting to kick in
6/4/2009 2:35:51 PM
definitely has to be for money, and a strong commish to keep collusion bullshit from happening.
6/4/2009 3:08:30 PM
I made the league yesterday and invited everyone back from last year I believe.Check your Yahoo!?
6/4/2009 5:14:41 PM
^^I'd be willing to help you guys monitor fishy looking trades if you wanted a non-biased, outside the league person
6/4/2009 5:19:37 PM
50 dollars is the least you can make the buy in20 dollars is throw away money for most people and won't keep thier attentionPreferably a couple hundred, but good luck getting anything close to that from TWW pursestrings
6/4/2009 5:23:41 PM
^ might have an opening in our Raleigh league if you are interested... I might beat the ever living shit out of you at the draft though but after that it would be cool
6/4/2009 5:26:58 PM
What's the timeframe; live draft I'm assuming ? I would love a chance to put my money where my mouth is
6/4/2009 5:29:18 PM
get your money off my dick and in my walletlive, in-person draft, league is on year 5-6, 2 keepers, you would select your two "keepers" before the draft since you dont have a roster to carry over from last year, usually have the draft in early to mid august in the Raleigh area.[Edited on June 4, 2009 at 5:31 PM. Reason : d]
6/4/2009 5:30:03 PM
Very interested...could you show me the roster of the open team that I would be picking keepers from ?I'm not gonna be gay and say that if I don't like the player available I don't play...I'm just curious
6/4/2009 5:37:38 PM
this is how it would work... everyone that played last year who is also playing this year would select two keepers from their team. All their other players would go back into the draft pool. If there are any owners who dont return this year then ALL of their players would go back into the draft pool as well. Then, all the new owners, such as you, would have their own preliminary draft a few weeks before the actual draft to select their "keepers"
6/4/2009 5:41:49 PM
Oh I seeYeah, let me know when the date's approaching a few weeks beforehand, I'll be in Raleigh a lot this summer anyway
6/4/2009 5:50:22 PM
hey Prufrock hows abouts we change one of the 3 WR spots to a flex wr/rb/te?
6/4/2009 10:03:50 PM
Nein.
6/5/2009 11:18:48 AM
Can I join in?
6/5/2009 5:00:40 PM
I am already joined in.... Just let me know of any new rules or updates.... Keeper sounds cool. III
6/5/2009 5:16:24 PM
If you have an opening let me know.
6/6/2009 8:17:45 PM
Just did a practice draft on Yahoo! Pick 4th out of 14 in the first round. Here's what I got. Just a no research involved dry run.1. Larry Fitzgerald (Ari - WR)2. Thomas Jones (NYJ - RB)3. Roy Williams (Dal - WR)4. Tony Gonzalez (Atl - TE)5. Knowshon Moreno (Den - RB)6. Carson Palmer (Cin - QB)7. Chris Chambers (SD - WR)8. Darren McFadden (Oak - RB)9. Tampa Bay (TB - DEF)10. Domenik Hixon (NYG - WR)11. Ted Ginn Jr. (Mia - WR)12. Lawrence Tynes (NYG - K)13. Earnest Graham (TB - RB)14. Fred Taylor (NE - RB)15. Brady Quinn (Cle - QB)
6/9/2009 1:19:07 PM
Fitz at 4th get the fuck out of here
6/9/2009 1:29:41 PM
well, if you think the gap between the top WR's is bigger than the gap between the top RB's i wouldnt hesitate to take WR early. but, considering there'd be 20 picks before you went again, i might have taken a RB. He'd be great mid-late 1st round IMO.
6/9/2009 2:27:41 PM
Theres a lot of two back teams in the NFL now. I am not sure there are 4 feature backs in the league right now with no injury or carry splitting flags. Fitz is the best WR hands IMO[Edited on June 9, 2009 at 8:23 PM. Reason : ]
6/9/2009 8:21:44 PM
^ who was taken ahead? Peterson, Turner and MJD?
6/10/2009 8:37:04 AM
My mistake, I actually picked 5th and passed on MJD for FitzHere is round one. Team 8-14 were autopicks by computer teams. i don't think I would like to play in a 14 team league. 12 is enough IMO. I wanted to take Steven Jackson but I got burned by him last year. MJD = small injury risk to great for top 5 pickWestbrook = ankle surgery + McCoyWilliams = splits with StewartGore = I just dont like him or his teamJacobs = I dont take NFC east teams since I am a Cowboys fanJohnson = split carriesPortis = I dont take NFC east teams since I am a Cowboys fanSlaton = 2nd round grade on him. I think Thomas Jones is better at the moment.(1) rhuntt_rhuntt - Adrian Peterson (Min - RB)(2) Wil - LaDainian Tomlinson (SD - RB)(3) Mike C - Michael Turner (Atl - RB)(4) Tommy - Matt Forte (Chi - RB)(5) kyleatstate - Larry Fitzgerald (Ari - WR)(6) gq_4_20 - Maurice Jones-Drew (Jac - RB)(7) Jason - Brian Westbrook (Phi - RB)(8) Team 8 - DeAngelo Williams (Car - RB)(9) Team 9 - Steven Jackson (StL - RB)(10) Team 10 - Frank Gore (SF - RB)(11) Team 11 - Brandon Jacobs (NYG - RB)(12) Team 12 - Chris Johnson (Ten - RB)(13) Team 13 - Clinton Portis (Was - RB)(14) Team 14 - Steve Slaton (Hou - RB)[Edited on June 10, 2009 at 9:44 AM. It does make it tougher I have eluded any BBCs so far though.
6/10/2009 9:50:39 AM
At some point by this weekend I will go in and figure out who from last year hasn't signed up and give them a chance to join again this year if they want to.Then any spots that open up I'll plug with whoever requests here.
6/10/2009 7:39:24 PM
I got a tough decision at keeper in our league:APWestbrookChris Johnsoncan keep 2, PPR league...obviously I am keeping AP, and probably Westbrook...?
6/10/2009 7:48:25 PM
^i'd rather be in your spot than mine...I've got to choose from:WarnerPalmerL. WashingtonHoushHightowerP. ThomasAll OK players, but none great...I might even go with Warner/Palmer and try to trade one for a high pick on draft day.
6/11/2009 9:42:17 AM
6/11/2009 9:45:09 AM
Westbrook just had ankle surgery and is out until training camp if not more.
6/11/2009 1:19:26 PM
Yeah I read where Westbrook's surgery was down-played a bit and the surgery was a little more serious than first reported. But I'd also go with AP and Westbrook between those 2.I've picked LT the last 2 seasons as my keeper...thinking it's time to part ways and keep Brees.
6/11/2009 1:24:20 PM
Thought I'd give this a bump. 9/12 teams accounted for so far. M.I.ATD JakeMr. Mexico's Pitbulls Phunky Phresh& Mr. BojanglesBTW Who is the new guy? Touchdown There?
7/1/2009 9:15:22 AM
Mr. Bojangles changed their name to Touchdown There this year.
7/1/2009 9:31:40 AM
I look forward to winning this league.....again.Back to Back Champs anyone?
7/1/2009 9:33:30 AM
<--- Formerly Mr. Bojangles, changed name to be consistent in all leagues. I have been promoted a couple times in the last year so I have much more time for FFB now

nvm, figured it out. Are we doing this for money?[Edited on August 10, 2009 at 1:29 PM. Reason : .]
8/10/2009 1:25:02 PM
Not for money.
8/10/2009 3:13:55 PM
TD JAKE is outI can't be bothered with free leagues at this point in my life
8/10/2009 3:15:17 PM
I don't mind playing for free. The only that sucks about playing for free is that some people give up during the season, making it not fair for everybody else.
8/10/2009 3:56:25 PM
thats the whole pointIf theres no initial investment, whats to keep someone from dropping if they're falling behind ?yeah, honor, intergrity, whatever, few people have itthis is also why I advocate having prize money trickle further down than just the top 1-2
8/10/2009 4:04:00 PM
I might have a few spots open in a $20 dollar league if anyone's interested./thread hijack.
8/10/2009 4:22:07 PM
wait a minute. Is this the league I won last year?I just looked back and I drafted Tom Brady in the 1st round last year...and still won!Holy shit, I completely forgot about this. This is news.
8/11/2009 11:47:49 AM
Draft on Saturday.
8/28/2009 12:04:21 PM
I am so there...at the moment. Damn last minute meeting came up... But I think I found a way out.
8/28/2009 12:16:49 PM
I'm gettin' antsy already.
8/29/2009 9:23:23 AM
so my mom is gonna be up here and we are doing dinner at my aunts house tonight, so I'll either be drafting from there (very likely) or I will have to autodraft
8/29/2009 9:28:00 AM
Good luck big daddy.
8/29/2009 9:38:08 AM
