Hey folks, I recently blew a hole in my header pipes and upon taking those off, i had to remove the intake manifold. I got a peak at my valves and realized there's a lot of carbon buildup from what i'm sure is retarded timing and rich carb mix. My question is do you think this level of buildup warrents removing the head while it's a fairly simple job (since the intake and exhaust are off) and cleaning them with a brush, etc....or if i should just put it back together and use a can of seafoam and or techron. All that being said, once i get my exhaust back on i'll properly adjust the timing and carb. Thanks for the input.

I have seen worse but I would at least put some valve seal on it. After it was back running a can of seafoam should tale alot of that off.

I wonder if you could spray deep creep on it and use a liquid pump to remove the residue?
