How do I fix them when they're pulled all the way up, and pulling the release cord doesn't do anything?

Stupid fucking maids pulled them all the way up to clean the windows, and now they won't come down.

These are pretty easy to fix yourself.

Just detach them, unscrew the top, and release the little cylinder that squeezes the cord in.

Or just jam a paper clip in there and wiggle it around.

You should be able to see the little gold/brass ratchet that holds them in place. Just push it up/back with a little pointy object and they should slide right down.
