I want to burn some photos onto a dvd because it has a lot more space than a cd. I've tried googling but is there a drive, or program, or something I can download that will let me burn onto a dvd? Right now when I try to burn it prompts me to put a cd into the drive.Do I need a dvd burner to do this??

You are asking...let me get this straight...you are askingDO I NEED A DVD BURNERTO BURN DVDS?DO I NEEDA DVD BURNERTO BURN DVDS?!?Jesus fucking Christ. Humanity is doomed.

lawl. Okay, the only reason I even ask is because google came up with some interesting alternatives. Some suggest Nero, most talk about vcds which I'm not interested in.I figured I'd ask tdub just to make sure. Now on my Mac, I do have a dvd burner but it only allows movies to be recorded, anyone know how to burn data only? When I try to select burn it prompts me to put a cd in yet happily recommends iDVD fore creative fun movies....I JUST WANT TO BURN THESE PHOTOS DAMMIT.[Edited on May 20, 2009 at 12:45 PM. 5/20/2009 12:45:39 PM
haha Just tell me how to make my MAC burn data instead of a stupid movie and I'll leave.
5/20/2009 12:46:40 PM
put a blank DVD in the drive.Open Finder. a "Burn folder" will be shown on the left where the device are.Drag stuff to it.Highlight it.Click Burn in the Finder window.ALTERNATELY.Right click on the desktop.Select, "Create new Burn Folder"put stuff in it.Click Burn.

no you don't need a dvd burnerall you need is some software which will fool your burning program into thinking it's a dvd burner. search google for "dvd emulator". install that, then install nero/sonic or just use windows and you'll have your data dvds
5/20/2009 12:50:54 PM
^^I tried that but it asked for a cd. Gonna try something I found online, 1. Open Finder as your active application (meaning it’s open on top of everything else). ? IMPORTANT! 2. Pop in your blank CD / DVD into your disc drive. 3. A dialogue box should pop up: Insert Disk Dialog 4. Click “Ok”. 5. “Untitled DVD” will appear on the bottom left of your Finder window. 6. Drag whatever you want to burn to “Untitled DVD”. 7. Now click on that nuclear looking sign, assign a disc name, and click burn!

thats exactly what i said. Yes, the application you want to click must be in focus.

5/20/2009 1:41:01 PM

5/20/2009 1:44:43 PM
haha i know, i thought this thread was made in jest so i figured i'd play along.
5/20/2009 1:57:48 PM
You need to install the bullet emulator. The emulator's install location is right where the brain stem meets the brain.

dvds have more space than cds?
5/21/2009 1:10:35 PM
only if you have the right firmware installed
5/21/2009 1:42:44 PM
^^durr they hold like 2 hours worth of movie audio. That's why sometimes there are two DVD's - only if the movie is more than two hours though.
5/21/2009 3:03:18 PM
You can download a drive to make dvds hold EVEN more video!Yay!
