From then on, he's often seen wielding his massive hammer and fighting alongside the Avengers (comprised of Iron Man, the Hulk and Captain America).Hemsworth, who stars in MGM's upcoming "Cabin in the Woods," was also just cast in that studio's remake of "Red Dawn" as Jed Eckert, the role originally played by Patrick Swayze in 1984. huh... not really what I expected them to do next, but hopefully good things will happen. Iron Man and Hulk were both cool.

I never cared much for Thor...I just want to see Captain America.
5/18/2009 3:57:01 PM
interested to see thismostly because I know nothing about Thor other than his basic storyline so I don't already have an idea of how it should look and what they better do or not do like I did with X-Men and Wolverineplus, I think it has potential to be pretty badass
5/18/2009 4:13:00 PM
shoulda beenwas rumored for a bit
5/18/2009 4:18:21 PM
^ would have been my pic
5/18/2009 4:45:41 PM
I suppose http://www.rottentomatoes.com/movie/box_office.php?rank_id=1880&us=1played a large role in the decision
5/18/2009 4:48:49 PM
hope he bulks up
5/18/2009 5:00:58 PM
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1089991/is Loki
5/18/2009 6:11:46 PM
should be interesting. the most recent hulk and iron man( best to date imho) have been a awesome bc they are more grounded in reality. it's tough to do a character like thor with a sense of realism since he's a god. i always thought it would be cool to just introduce him in the avengers movie. and have him be a regular dude who runs a hardware store and maybe enjoys sailing. then near the end when the avengers need him have him call his hammer out of a display case and transform into thor.
5/18/2009 6:22:34 PM
is Loki
5/18/2009 7:30:54 PM
5/18/2009 7:54:32 PM
so what's the deal with young thor and old thor? i vaguely remember there were two from the comics, but that's about it
5/18/2009 8:05:11 PM
This better be awesome...or I won't go by "Thor" anymore
5/19/2009 1:05:12 AM
I'd like it to be like Ultimate Thor, where he's half crazy and nobody knows whether his power comes from being a God, some other mutation, or technology. Also the beard looks much cooler than babyface Thor from regular marvel.
5/19/2009 3:07:29 AM
5/19/2009 1:29:07 PM
I don't care what was in the comic, but any Thor should have a beard of some kind. He's fucking Norse, those people are born with full beards.
5/19/2009 1:35:50 PM
Alexander Skarsgard would of been my pick as well. Don't know much about this Chris Hemsworth. We will see what happens.
5/19/2009 2:52:28 PM
Making this movie work ain't gonna be easy.
5/20/2009 6:29:48 AM
This will definitely be a not-see
5/20/2009 8:07:38 AM
thinking about it in retrospect, I'm kinda surprised Josh Hollaway (Sawyer on "Lost") didn't come up as a candidate. Doesn't sound like they're going for a bodybuilder anyway.
5/20/2009 11:18:55 AM
They should have gone with Vincent D'OnofrioBut yea, Alexander Skarsgard looks more the part. Kirk Sr. is much to boyish looking for my tastes. But I guess he has a year or so to bulk a bit and maybe age a bit.

Im interested... III
6/3/2010 4:47:55 PM
I love Thor.
6/3/2010 4:54:41 PM
was this bumped because of the leaked costume concept art? or did i miss other news? i'm only semi interested in this at the moment
6/3/2010 5:15:30 PM
and here's an actual screen shotand here's a link to possible captain america concepts, which i think look awesomehttp://www.aintitcool.com/node/45326[Edited on June 3, 2010 at 9:36 PM. Reason : .]

^^ Doesn't look bad, but I think the arms would look better with chain instead of the fake looking scale they have there. On the other hand, I guess you wouldn't be able to see his muscles with chain.I like the Captain America also but I'm not sure how I feel about the shapes on his legs.
6/3/2010 10:53:50 PM
NATHAN FILLION AS ANT-MAN.WHAT.
6/3/2010 11:55:02 PM
Hank Pym is an important member of the Avengers, one of the founding members. Plus if they are going to feature Ultron in the Avengers movie, which would make the most sense as an enemy IMO, they have to have someone to make him.Pym's supposed to be blonde though, wonder if they get the guy to change his hair color.
6/4/2010 2:28:06 AM
I really hope Nathan Fillion is Ant Man. That would be awesome.
6/4/2010 1:50:36 PM
I remember hearing a couple weeks back kat Dennings was picked for a role in Thor? Not sure if this has changed or she has some other role in the movie that hasn't been finalized.
6/4/2010 2:18:07 PM
please lose the cape.
6/4/2010 9:29:22 PM
Hmmmm...The pics of Thor remind me of someone...it's like someone's done some makeup and facial hair effects to make him look more like someone else...who could that be...(yeah, I know it's a real stretch and all blonde haired people with facial hair look the same, but the first thing I thought when I saw the pics above was "He's making a new young Branagh!?!?")[Edited on June 5, 2010 at 2:03 PM. 6/5/2010 2:02:43 PM
he's probably always wanted to play thor himself

Don't really care for Odin's armor or that hallway they are in. Looks quasi-futuristic instead of dark ages inspired.Loki looks pretty good though.
7/14/2010 11:32:09 AM
^looks a little cheesy, but I also kinda like it...I also didn't know that Kenny Branagh directed anything.
7/14/2010 11:35:29 AM
[Edited on July 14, 2010 at 11:47 AM. Reason : this movie will suck worse than Daredevil.................... you heard it here first]
