The mattress that fits it is a FULL.Mattress NOT included; I'm keeping it for my next bed. What is included:Platform BedBlue fluorescent bulbs, transformer (mounted under bed), plugs into any standard outletYou will have to come and pick it up, I do not have access to a truck. The bed comes apart in three separate pieces, stacked like an inverted step pyramid. I designed it when I lived in a new apt. so, it ****should**** fit through all the door ways. Also, since it is assembled using roof joist hangers, the upper platform could probably hold a volkswagon. It's really sturdy. I have measurements for those serious inquiries. The design contains lumber, finished birch, electronics, wiring, stains, polyurethane finish, the bulbs, and lends itself to adaptation for drawers and compartments in the platforms if the user needs. Serious inquiries only, please pvt.$250.00 OBO

dimensions?

upper platform is ~86" square, but is a "U". That's how it fits through doors. The lower platforms are less than 6'-8" and fit through subsequent doorways.

i was thinking about the footprint, thats larger than a king size bed. i think its pretty cool and i remember when you made it, but my room is too small
5/15/2009 8:27:59 PM
ah, yeah, since the top platform is larger than the bottom one, the top is effectively the footprint. It does lend itself to a larger room. When I moved I had it in the corner for a while and still do, it works/looks fine there.
