Here's my deal, I have two hyper-v instances.

Instance 1 has all of my user accounts setup, and everyone in my group uses this machine. I need to flatten this instance to upgrade. However, setting up all the accounts over again is a GIANT pain in the ass, and I figure there has to be a way to export/migrate from one instance to another.

Any help from the Windows admin guys here? Both servers are Win 2008 SP1 Enterprise.

it's a vm right? move the vhd to a beefier host and crank the vm settings to what you need

since teh hypervisor is the same, there should be no hardware difference to the OS, just maybe more cores or ram

The problem isn't with the VM. I need to flatten the VM for a software update (it's my daily build machine), but I'm tired of manually redoing the user accounts everytime.

If it was just local users, I could do it, but these are all domain accounts and I have no clue how to manage and move those.

pretty sure you can just export them if you're trying to do what i think you're doing. i'd have to google the commands..but i've done it before. although i had more problems importing them than exporting

I have lets say 8 domain users with Admin permissions on this instance. They are also members of several other security groups local to this instance.

I need to reformat and reinstall this instance. I want to be able to restore those accounts, groups and permissions in one fell swoop after I've reinstalled everything.
