i'm already with ATT - i'm gonna get an iphone but am not trying to extend my contract for two more years (unless i have to) to get the phone. (workin with a good ol razr right now). can i buy one on eBay/craigslist and get it to work with ATT??

I'm selling an unlocked iPhone 3G right now. You can use it on any GSM network, prepaid, post paid, whatever. I have an ad in the classifieds.
