Yeah, Diablo Corsa III's are pretty much the standard for street as far as I see.That's what I'm running on my 600rr and I love them.

yep, I'm enjoying mine with the new Racetech fork springs, 25w fork oil, and EBC pads. Need to do an oil change ASAP, because I don't know when it was last done (not since I've owned it).Next, I need to wear out the sport-touring tires on it and mount up some aggressive, street-track tires (probably those Diablos). Probably order some bar-end mirrors pretty soon, too. Those stalks look terrible.Ultimately, I also want to put clip-ons on it, along with a solo cowl. I don't know if I'll do anything to the headlight or not...probably so, because there are a lot of little corrosion spots around the chrome bezel, so if it needs to be replaced anyway, I might as well do something cool with it.My only concern is that I've noticed it missing shifts (getting hung between gears in a false neutral) when doing clutchless upshifts. I think it's only when going into 5th, but I need to investigate further. It never does it on a clutched shift, and I suspect it probably wouldn't do it under hard acceleration--it's just that under light-to-moderate acceleration, it probably doesn't unload the drivetrain enough when I blip the throttle. Hopefully nothing is getting worn, broken, or bent to the point that it'll be a real problem, and I can just be cognizant of it and use the clutch on that shift unless I'm really gettin' after it. If it gets too bad or fails altogether, I suppose the best thing will be to just buy an engine out of a wrecked bike and swap the whole works. Probably not worth trying to rebuild the transmission.

It's a 01 naked. I ordered bar end mirrors for it yesterday. The clutch lever is pretty stiff, it got a little easier when I changed the oil. I'll deal with it until the next time it rains and I can't ride. I've been looking at some forumsI've thought about doing something for headlights...either replacing it with duals or painting that chrome bezel and gauge bezel black.

I've got a design for a basic fender eliminator/undertail thingy, worked out perfectly on the sv I hadbasically you cut out the factory stuff, relocate the electrical box (cant remember what it is), and then bolt up the plate. I've still got the metal laying around I can get dimensions off of, believe it is 1/8" 304SS, bent up on each side[Edited on April 25, 2009 at 10:27 PM. Mine's got high miles, so guess it was setup for lubing the chain on long rides/roadside repair stuff. Who knows? I dropped it off at a shop today after work to get new sprockets and chain. I've got Friday off and I'm going to the mountains to visit friends and do some more riding with them. Is there anything I might need besides the obvious? I'm riding to Banner Elk from Mooresville so it's not too far. Just would hate to be stuck.

If you haven't ridden before make sure you don't forget to buy some gear man.ESP if your riding with experienced riders int he moutains, ride at a safe pace that your comfortable at. Get at least a nice set of gloves and a jacket. Next i would say decent over the ankle boots, and finally pants (I get alot of use outa mine snowboarding as well)Other than that enjoy the trip.

the diablo corsa 3's are nice if you want a lot of traction. if you want a longer lasting tire I would go with the Michelin Pilot Road 2's. Being your first bike I doubt you will push either past their limits

It appears that the Diablo Corsa IIIs aren't made in a small enough size for an SV650. Looks like the rears are either 180 or 190, either of which being too wide.Soooo...what else in this class of tire do you guys like? Anyone ridden Dunlop Qualifiers?

michelin pilot powers aren't a bad tire, they will last a long time under normal riding, and are sticky as hell when you get them hot, they are $texas$ though, right up there with metzlershttp://www.hardracing.com/Misc/MichelinPilotPower.htmi am on my second front and third rear in 14k miles and have been impressed, especially with the wet traction, the only draw back is that when you have been riding hard, it tends to get rocks embedded deep into the rubber, you have to pick them out every once in a while[Edited on May 3, 2009 at 10:14 AM. I really love the 2ct, they are expensive, i cant say i use them to their full ability, but they just seem to inspire confidence.Qualifiers were okay, and i don't like the diablos i have right now.

I had pilot powers and they were better than average, but are NOT meant for track use. I've seen more than just a couple guys just completely lose traction on those things, as if they exceeded operating temps and they instantly broke loose. The have very good handling and grip at very spirited street speeds though

Well shit mine is cheap and I paid cash. I honestly didn't get collision because I could just buy a new one. I got theft insurance though. Got back unscathed...I actually had to make a long detour on the bike to pick up a F-150 I won at auction from the state. Rode all day Friday and it was nice, then loaded the bike and finished the rest of the trip in the truck in the dark. Only got about 3 hours of riding in on Saturday with friends because of the rain, but it was fun. My driveway is a used car lot. I'm gonna consider selling in a month or so and getting something else.
