I live in Brier Creek Area and my lawn mower hasn't started. I can't get it to work. I am already being sued by my homeowners and I will not be able to handle the yard before next weekend and I need it done now.

It is not overly huge. It takes me about 35 min. to mow. Anybody need a couple of extra dollars?

I can pay cash or I have a free month of unlimited tanning I won from G105 that is up for grabs.

I am going to come into a working one very shortly after my sister graduates. I just probably need it trimmed twice before then.

I have a reel mower aka push mower if anyone knows where I can get it sharpened.

I called Sears, True Value, Ace, & this Lawn Mower place on 70.

On the note of being sued, it is because my dumpster is present on the curb for over 24 hours (ex. I put is out Sunday & return it Monday night). Apparently that is too long. They have contacted a lawyer and he is going to force us to comply. I am under the understanding that they are going to have someone put my dumpster behind my house and make me pay for it as well as lawyer fees.

Lolz I wish.

I am just amazed at how much power my freaking retired fuddy duddy of a neighbor has. We have FORECLOSED houses in the neighborhood that haven't been mowed and are starting to not be kept up and he keeps turning me in.

Also, in Durham you don't have to have a dumpster. I was thinking of turning mine in and taking my trash to work because they do not care if you put shit in it. I save ~20 a month and I would automatically get rid of this problem. I will have to think about it.

wait, why do you have a dumpster?

Is a trash can not enough?

Also, I would be retaliating like a motherfucker. Make your neighbor's life miserable. get a large amount of fertilizer and cover their lawn with it late at night. Then when the grass dies from over-fertilization, complain to the HOA.

Could they really win this in court? I mean that's just a load of shit.

Also can they prove it? Do they have dated pictures?

yup. exactly why HOA's fucking suck..especially when you live around a bunch of old retired mother fuckers that have nothing better to do.

i lived at a place with one and a bunch of old ppl once.. i got fined a ton, then they tried to evict me from a place that I own (which they legally can do btw). it was an interesting summer

I'm so glad i've been lucky enough to have pretty laid-back HOAs thus far.

That kind of shit would end up with me in prison. I do not handle authority well.

Haha, at my last house you couldn't have a garden (guess there were too many crazy ones). So I grew some strawberries anyways and got a call from someone at the HOA about it. I told them they were wild that the plants actually were in my neighbors yard. Someone was there within 5 minutes to check it out.

I bummed a mower from my Mother in law for the day.

The yard hadn't been mowed yet this year. It looks messy but there were a few spots that were bad. I did call a few more places today to try to get my mower sharpened. I just can't find someone to sharpen it. If I am being watched by the HOA, having any ammunition is bad. So I am going to play by the rules the best I can. Nice yard, dumpster, etc....

I do have a green rolling trashcan. I guess I just grew up calling it a dumpster. I have no idea what kind of proof they need. This dude is just the bane of my existence.

This is my first run in since we moved in last year. We own a house in Cary and OMG that HOA association thinks they are God; however, it has appreciated significantly since we owned it so people must WANT to move into the neighborhood. It took us going to the Cary City Government for the harassment to stop. We never got fined just tickets. Lots and lots and lots of tickets. Usually they couldn't pin point a house and ticked the cul-de-sac and they would want us to tattle but we were close knit enough to be like screw them. It was parking at that place we got in trouble with. NO on street parking but the streets aren't private. So we called the cops and found out the homeowners really couldn't tow the car unless they could prove the person that parked the car signed the HOA agreement. So the tickets kept coming......we also got one for, a bike, basketball hoop, too many sticks in our yard, too many leaves, mailbox area not being kept up.......

A lot of places now have them. My brother pays 1500 a year for his HOAs.

If you haven't cut your lawn yet this year, then they might have a legitimate reason to bother you. That's a LOT of growth.

The trash can thing sounds like a load of bullshit.

as far as sharpening your blade, Ace hardware or true value do it for $6-$8.
