I expect good attendance, some decent looking football practice, and someone to get really overpissed that there's not fresh hot grilled pretzels at a basically free event, and for some 30 year old dude in sweatpants to take 50 of the free posters.

I'm gonna try to get out there to hang out and tailgate/grill. Anyone with any information regarding parking, please feel free to post. I'm going over to the site now to find out what I can.

If it's like it's been in the past, just enter off of tryon trinity road, parking shouldn't be a problem.

How early can you get the stadium?? I know gates open at 9AM for the parking and tailgatin' stuff, but what about for the game? Like, I'll be SOLO so I don't wanna show up TOOO early, but don't wanna be S.O.L with the parking situation.

I spoke to TOB at length earlier this morning, and he assured me that he expects massive amounts of LULZ Saturday.

On a more serious note, is Wilson even expected to play with baseball still ongoing?

from the N&O's ACC Now Blog:
Quote :
"

Five things to watch at N.C. State’s spring football game:

1. Russell Wilson. Don’t get there late if you want to see him. The returning first-team All-ACC quarterback will start the first half, then yield to walk-on Daniel Imhoff for the second half.

The reason? Wilson will join the baseball team for the 6:30 p.m. game against Florida State. If he plays the second half, he will exceed the NCAA’s 20-hour weekly limit on athletics participation for athletes.

2. Safety squeeze. Senior Clem Johnson, who was injury prone last season, is N.C. State’s only proven player at either safety position.

Jimmaul Simmons, Justin Byers and Bobby Floyd all will need to make strides to prevent the Wolfpack from being vulnerable at this critical spot on the defense.

3. Owen Spencer’s hands. Spencer set a school record last season with a 22.3-yard average per catch. He also dropped at least a half-dozen passes that could have gone for big plays last season.

If he stops dropping the ball and takes full advantage of his uncanny ability to get wide open, he could become an All-ACC candidate as a junior.

4. One team, one offense. Despite the divergent skills of the speedy Wilson and classic dropback passer Mike Glennon, offensive coordinator Dana Bible said both can thrive in the same offense.

Bible compares them to batters in a baseball game. He said two batters can use different stances and swings to arrive at the same point of contact and still clobber the ball. We’ll see if Wilson and Glennon both hit home runs today.

5. Young blockers. N.C. State has some proven veterans in Jake Vermiglio, Julian Williams, Ted Larsen and Jeraill McCuller.

The team is counting on freshmen Sam Jones, Andrew Wallace, Zach Allen and R.J. Mattes to provide depth. This will be a chance to show they can do it in front of a crowd.

i'm definitely trying to drink and eat for a bit before heading into the stadium, so hopefully we can still get some lower level seats when we go in... maybe 12?

some quick thoughts after watching the first half online:
-huge turnout. they said probably the biggest we've ever had for spring game
-we are loaded at RB
-we're going to be a very pass happy offense this year
-our o-line needs some work, esp in run blocking
-our D looks much improved, esp our run defense; or maybe it's just because our o-line is bad
-george bryan is going to have a bigg year and stephen howard looks good as well
-spring games are not good for watching russell wilson play
-mike glennon looks like a star; if he can just not trip over his o-line so much, he is going to have some huge years here and in the next level. hard not comparing him with that other QB we had..

summary: i'm pretty stoked

I don't like this analogy, but I still would like to see both qb's playing back and forth in the same game during the season.

I wouldnt say that

he made some pretty easy passes to wide open guys, some good laser passes but his touch stuff needs help, he seems to get flustered easy in the pocket.

he needs some work, at this point Wilson is better, obviously.

I thought the Oline looked good, but our D is just nasty at the LB position.

Safety needs help, BADDDD
