I admit, i really don't follow the ADs duties and job performance very much.

With that said, instead of using this thread to bash him, who's pleased with what Fowler has done for the university? Does he have any praise-worthy accomplishments? (the facilities and such)

I don't know or don't meet many people who have anything good to say about him, but many of his disapprovers can't give substantial reasons as to why they dislike/despise the man. Most (like me) are just disappointed with the lack of any real success in any of the major sports programs... in quite some time.

and the main reason i made this thread was i just looked at statefansnation's piece that gives all of our athletic teams standing from this year, its shockingly bad to see them all listed together

the list made me pretty angry and the fact that i read it while unc is playin for a national title just my anger that much worse

No, not all, but he has messed up by not firing some of them. What is this like his 11th year? Who do you suggest should be responsible for the state of our athletics?

It's not like this has been a single down year, this is pretty consistent results for us.

I guess for some of you, 9 years isn't nearly long enough to judge an AD's credibility. He needs AT LEAST 10! And besides, you can throw out 2000-2005 because we didn't have our FACILITIES in place then!!!

I tend to disagree with your fanatical negativity, but no, that quote that you claim implies my support for fowler was a question. If you read my first post in this thread, I state that many people hate fowler, but few have substantial reasons except the lack of success of the sporting programs for the last many years. Just like your gripe. I'm wondering what it is he could have done/could do better. Is it his hiring of coaches? Is it holding onto coaches for too long?

Instead of your constant bashing, how about offering up some answers? (except for b-ball, because we all know your opiniong there), what would you do to make our athletic programs better. I've already stated that I don't really follow the duties and job performance of Fowler, so I don't know. But you seem to know what you're talking about, so i'd like to hear your ideas.

Fire Lee Fowler and hire someone who is half way competent. I'm not the athletics director here, I'm just an NC State fan who has been pissed on for the past decade. I shouldn't have to come up with the answers to make our program better, because guess what, that isn't my job. That is the job of the Athletics Director, and he has failed miserably.

This sort of sucks because now season tickets are $329 (the most expensive ever) for a schedule that includes two I-AA teams and Duke. I would have rather played 7 at home and traveled to ECU.

All they did is add another I-AA team when ECU backed out of a game. We'll have 7 home games next year because we will play enough I-AA teams to make it happen.

I indicated in my survery comments that it would be neat if WPC members could vote to IMPEACH the athletics director. Not feasible i know, but hopefully it conveys my distaste.

Saying FIRE (WHOEVER) is all good and well, but you know that would also require replacing that person...so...who do we bring in to replace Fowler

^^^ He is responsible for the overall state of our athletics programs. Our athletics programs have been shitty throughout his tenure. Not sure what other evidence you need of incompetence. I'm assuming that you do understand the definition of incompetence, and that it is the AD's responsibility for the overall state of athletics.

YES MAN! YES! That would definitely be defined as halfway competent.

A fully competent AD could having teams with winning records and wouldn't fuck up coaching searches from his Lake House all the while losing 30 pounds, completely embarrassing the University. And just April 3rd, Lee Fowler said the coaching search for a new WBB coach has just begun. Coach Yow died in January, so I'm not really sure what the hell Fowler has been doing for 3 months, not to mention an NC State legacy's dying wish was to have Stephanie Glance replace her. Why Fowler hasn't asked her if she wants the job yet is beyond me. He's a fuck up by all accounts.
