Anyone heard any information of possible tour dates in the US for Muse? I know they're playing with U2 in a few locations and that so far only MSG in NYC is confirmed for September 24th but I'm curious about other dates.I desparately want to see them live and would travel anywhere east of the Mississippi but really don't want to shell out $Texas to see them open for U2. In other words I'm hopeful they'd be headlining somewhere in the US without U2.[Edited on April 3, 2009 at 3:33 PM. Reason : k]

I think my dad saw them play about 30 years ago, back when they were called Queen.I kid, I kid. But really. Muse is Queen for a new generation.
4/3/2009 4:17:20 PM
i saw them live in Charlotte and it was badassneener neener
4/3/2009 4:18:57 PM
I will definitely be on the lookout for shows.
4/3/2009 4:27:39 PM
Saw them in Raleigh at Disco Rodeo back in '05, one of the best shows I've been to. This is a band worth traveling to see.
4/3/2009 5:49:30 PM
I'm just getting in to this band but I'd def like to see them if they are somewhere in north carolina

^My roommate went to that, back when I didn't know how awesome Muse was or I'd have gone with him. I'll definitely keep this in mind.
4/4/2009 12:43:38 AM
been a huge fan since the first album back in like 2000, but didnt get to see them until summer of 06, but they seriously put on a great live show. one of the only bands i've seen do 3 encores.
4/4/2009 3:46:16 AM
if anyone hears anything update the thread, I'd definitely make a trip to see them livewell hell, I just found this on their wikipedia page:

^I read somewhere that Matt said that there is a song on it that he considers the hardest song he's ever written. I'm intrigued...I saw them back in '05 at the Disco Rodeo too. It is most definitely one of the best concerts of ever been to. I would love to see them again, but I don't know how I feel about them not headlining.
4/4/2009 9:14:06 AM
fuck yes
4/4/2009 11:08:11 AM
I wonder if they'll rip off Radiohead's live show, too...
4/4/2009 12:04:58 PM
well Radiohead will never do Bends era style music again so I'm glad someone willits kinda like I'm glad the Silversun Pickups came around for an early Smashing Pumpkins sound
4/4/2009 2:11:54 PM
i drove down to atlanta in '04 to see them, and saw them at disco rodeo in '05 too.i rarely go to concerts, but muse is worth it.
4/4/2009 3:41:16 PM
4/5/2009 3:03:51 PM
well i agree most of the songs have an original soundbut "lazy eye" takes me back
4/5/2009 8:59:06 PM
yea I love that song and I can certainly see the comparison. I actually just started really getting into them not that long ago (because someone told me I would love them since im obsessed with early SP )
4/5/2009 9:23:52 PM
I really don't want to pay out the ass to see Muse basically "opening" for U2. U2's great and I love their earlier stuff but I have no interest and seeing them in concert.
4/5/2009 10:21:59 PM
^^^ also, if you are really into the kinda gritty, alternative, shoegaze stuff I REALLY dig Amusement Parks on Fire (http://www.myspace.com/amusementparksonfire) an the Fleeting Joys are ok too (http://www.myspace.com/fleetingjoys). You may already listen to one or both of them but if not I highly recommend you checking them out if you enjoy early SP and silversun pickups.Especially Amusement Parks on Fire. It has much more of a true shoegaze production than the Silversun Pickups imo. Thats my main complaint probably with SS...for the sound they have going for them I feel that their recordings are too clean and produced. This kinda stuff needs that raw feeling with room to breathe. "In Flight" is a good track to start with on their myspace imo. That song destroys.[Edited on April 6, 2009 at 12:11 AM. Reason : ]

They WILL be at U2's Oct. 3 show at Carter-Finley!http://music.mync.com/2009/04/u2-to-perform-at-carter-finley-october-3/
4/7/2009 12:52:08 PM
muse fucking rocks sucks. hard.
4/7/2009 12:57:53 PM
ugh. i'd really rather not go to a u2 concert, esp knowing the insane crowd that will be fighting for tickets. that's a deal breaker unfortunately.
4/7/2009 1:33:20 PM
I really loved their first two albums; they have a great sense for melody. However, their last 2 albums just got kinda repetitive for me.
4/7/2009 1:40:58 PM
when is the last time a band played at carter-finley?
4/7/2009 3:00:27 PM
U2 + MUSE + Carter Finley Stadium = THE SHITTIEST ECHO AND REVERB THE WORLD HAS EVER HEARD!
4/7/2009 3:38:25 PM
I'm definitely buying tickets, but if another Muse (just Muse) date is set that I can go to I'll probably sell them.

I absolutely HATE U2. But I'll go to it just to see Muse. Should be interesting...
4/8/2009 3:04:38 PM
i'll go just to tailgateyou'll be able to hear the concert loud and clear from the Fairground lot
4/8/2009 4:26:34 PM
I'd do that with yalike i said before, i wouldn't ever pay to hear U2, and I don't feel like paying U2 prices to see Muse
4/8/2009 6:37:59 PM
bingoi figure if i can hear "That's a Wolfpack FIRST DOWN!" on the speakers from across the road, i'll surely be able to hear a rock concert

New Album is dropping on September 14th! The Resistance
7/14/2009 4:39:31 PM
Im looking forward to it, but I just hope they took a step towards varying their sound more on this album. I love their early stuff but feel like they have more or less rehashed the same sound with minor changes on every album.
7/14/2009 5:13:02 PM
^I feel like their first two albums have a pretty good sound all around. Absolution and Black Holes and Revelations have some absolutely amazing songs (most of my favorites) but I feel like a few of the other songs on each album just fall flat and aren't that good.

here's the first song from the album. Its called "United State of Eurasia"definitely has some Queen "bohemian rhapsody" influences. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKxN4JyGtoEMight need to grow on me a little[Edited on July 20, 2009 at 2:09 PM. Reason : asdf]

Word. Their first single is being released today (or maybe tomorrow). Like I said above, its called The Uprising.
7/20/2009 2:11:43 PM
i love muse, but damn they really dont like the US haha
7/21/2009 6:33:17 AM
any word on what songs they'll be playing for us at Carter Finley?longshot but i thought i'd ask it anyway.
7/22/2009 2:39:40 PM
^no clue, I'm guessing a bunch of new stuff since the show is 2 weeks after the new albums is releasedand, Uprising came out yesterday, it is up on the muse website. Much better than United States of Eurasia, but still not the best thing I've ever heard from them.
8/4/2009 11:28:50 AM
NOODLING KEYBOARD SOUNDS!dude can sing like whoa, though.
8/4/2009 11:29:58 PM
