More likely though - I'm not doing something right. I bought the combo pack that comes with a roll of class cleaner, all purpose cleaner, and protectant. I went over the dash, seats, console, etc. with the cleaner and protectant. Now my seats and dash are really streaky. Am I doing something wrong or is the a superior products I should spend for cleaning/protecting my interior.

Dash and seats are both very dark gray almost black. Seats are leather.

Combo Pack example:

I use this on my dash, doors, plastic trim , etc...

http://www.303products.com/tech/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=428&CFID=49045209&CFTOKEN=65986417

I've never touched leather seats with it. Dont expect to get anything shiny. I dont like the shiny look and this wont give it.

Armor all did some mean stuff to my dash oddly enough. The armor all bottle even had a picture of my cars dash on the fucking front of it!

I made the tremendous mistake of letting a charity car wash clean my motorcycle once. They soaked my tires with armor all and it took about a week of riding on what felt like wet ice to wear that shit off.

i had this stuff for a while called sonus that a pilot gave me, that he used on the plastic parts of the cockpit to keep them from fading or cracking, that had a satin finish with no glare for obvious reasons, i havent seen it anywhere since

Same here, my dash looks like fucking tectonic plates now. Just a few years after religiously applying armor all, I never know which bump will break another piece down behind the gauge cluster.

Armor All is now safe. What cracks the dashes is the old formula that had alcohol in it. The new version can be used safely on almost everything, and with a 2nd wipe down with a dry microfiber, looks just as good as 303. Google "new AA formula" and you will get just as many stories about how AA is decent now.

303 is fine, but expensive. Sonus is the same, really good product, just to expensive.

Majestic Solutions Poly Pro dressing from Majestic in Raleigh is a good medium between low gloss, ease of use, and low price.

And to the OP, you are applying the dressing wrong. Apply with a soft microfiber or wax applicator pad. Light mist on the towel/pad is all you should need. Wipe dry with second microfiber.

Ok, so substitute lightly misted applicator pad for wipe then, not that hard.

i use black magic's matte finish tire dressing. i like it because it gives a low sheen making the tires look clean and black and lasts a decent time. i just spray it on all tires then go back and wipe it off with a wax applicator pad.

Yeah, it pulls chemicals OUT of the plastic it's put on, causing it to become brittle over time.

Never ever put Armor-all on your dash.

You guys are so damn dense. What yall dont realize is that the AA that cracks dashes is the "old" formula. The new formula is very close to 303 in terms of UV protection and looks, plus its water based so it does not have any petroleum distillates in the formula, and it wont attract dust if applied correctly. I'm not affiliated with Armor All, but I do stand behind that it's a good product that should be rid of its bad name by now.

Like I said, google "new formula Armor All" and you will hear praise about the new formula and how it performs.

Ive got them all. Enzittes, 303, Sonus, Megs, Mothers, Surf City, Detailers Pride and others, but AA for a local offering, is inexpensive and works well.

my dad used to use AA back in the day, this is when 2001 was the only other cleaner. after reading about how shitty AA is for a car(about 8 years ago) ive dont nothing but use meguires for everything, yes ive used better more expensive products, but i havent had anything that was new than 6 years old so i said fuck it, its just not worth it for 3m and shit like that.

meguires>blackmagic>*>AA

I have gotten a few new products since making this thread and they work great. I'll be throwing out the combo pack. I also picked up one of those reflectors for the windshield. Looks dumb but if it prevents my dash from fading I am all for it.
