yo dude, could you get a couple pics of the radiator and upper mounts on Rufus (is that the name ?) I'm wondering and assuming that the gasser radiators in the 1500's are smaller than what I have, and that both mount sets are indeed present on that front end structure. If that is true, I could swap to the smaller radiator, which would aid in shaving some weight and allow for some more advantageous intercooler configurationsnote: i havent searched this, and 69 might can glean this from alldata. enjoy reading the thread, my raging gayers

wtf are you talking about

3/28/2009 8:30:30 PM
is the 1995 dodge ram 1500 radiator different from the 1995 ram 2500 cummins radiator?if so, I assume it is smaller, which would benefit my applicationwell I am going to assume that the 1500 gasser radiator (if smaller) would still be adequate to cool my engine for the conditions that it normally operates under... i.e. minimal loading/street driving, etc.[Edited on March 28, 2009 at 8:32 PM. Reason : -]judging from what looks to be an alternate radiator mounting boss, the assumed smaller radiator would be about 3-4" more narrow overall[Edited on March 28, 2009 at 8:40 PM. Reason : -]
3/28/2009 8:31:10 PM
hmmmm[Edited on March 28, 2009 at 8:43 PM. Reason : i just dont see the use in a narrow radiator. i thought the bigger the fins the better]
3/28/2009 8:42:20 PM
the gas 1500 and 2500, 5.2 and 5.9 radiators are all the same, just with or without a trans cooler for the autothe diesel 2500 looks a lot differentgasdiesel
3/28/2009 8:42:33 PM
the thought of being able to run a better intercooler tank design excites mejesus christ look at that price difference-
3/28/2009 8:43:42 PM
you got the a/c off of it? i know they make those baller trans. pans with the big cooling fin on it, i dont know if that radiator has fluid lines in it, but if you had a cooler mounted on the front of the truck, you could take that off, couldnt you,
3/28/2009 8:50:36 PM
the thread title had so much potential. then i click and its just lotsa lame. i was really looking forward to ivan pwn someone. let down again.
3/28/2009 8:50:55 PM
^^ just like when that faggot didnt show up to race with cash in hand that he didnt have
3/28/2009 8:53:38 PM
^^^Yeah, I removed the AC last summer. trans cooler is bolted to the front of the intercooler, so really it would be a bolt out/bolt in affair. The trans cooler needs to stay up front, though[Edited on March 28, 2009 at 8:57 PM. Reason : - yeah i figured i would get a lot of looks with the thread title]
3/28/2009 8:56:01 PM
it should fit if thats what you are asking, the 1500 and 2500 gas radiator part numbers are the same, and the 2500 diesel and gas bodys are the same, so yes it should fit, but you may need the little brackets for it
3/28/2009 8:57:19 PM
yeah, there's another set of threaded inserts where the upper bolts go (the basis for this conjecture of a thread)
3/28/2009 9:05:25 PM
I am having to reposition some of my AC stuff for my new front mount, and the trans cooler is probably going to end up where the old intercooler was.
3/28/2009 9:05:33 PM
yearmakemodeL? rover? sounds like fun
3/28/2009 9:06:35 PM
yeah the little rover
3/28/2009 9:07:25 PM
schweet
3/28/2009 9:10:02 PM
its gonna be small for that engine though, especially with an intercooler you better get an electric fan with two settings: high and omfg is that a sikorski doing a flybyseriously though, the radiator is larger because of the warmer air from the intercooler the lower the differential temp between the high and low sink, the lower the heat transfer coefficientU=QA(Th-Tl)on a seat of the pants figuring, a gas radiator with the ac running full blast designed to cool a 360 under full load will probably work with an intercooler and no ac for short high power bursts and normal driving
3/28/2009 9:15:05 PM
3/28/2009 9:22:04 PM
you could always add a hood scoop and do a top mount trans cooler for more space or perhaps a sidemount in the fender well?
3/28/2009 9:38:48 PM
^you speaking to primer, im assuming.
3/28/2009 10:01:08 PM
either, I have no idea the layout of the engine bay in either application
3/29/2009 1:21:56 AM
a cooler thermostat really wont do much for you but lead to incomplete combustion, its not gonna prevent the truck from overheating
3/29/2009 8:19:21 AM
do the rams have oil coolers?
3/29/2009 9:25:41 AM
do dogs piss on brick walls?the oil cooler is built into the filter assembly on the cummins
3/29/2009 10:45:00 AM

i, too, was disappointed at the contents of the original post. sounds like you've got it figured out, but yes you can swap between the two radiators. i can definitely get pics of mine if you'd like though. you'll definitely probably want to switch to an electric fan also to avoid hassles with fitting a shroud, but i would assume you've got that planned anyway. the viper fans are a common swap in the 94-02 rams. i'm sure a taurus fan would work also.you (and primer) might consider laying your transmission coolers down flat somewhere instead of the traditional mounting. i did this with the one on my c5 to help alleviate some cooling issues i was having last year, and it stays 180-190 degrees max even running the hell out of it.
3/30/2009 2:42:52 PM
thanks for the delivery BBR. BTW.... one of these days we shall meet at the tree. one day.
3/30/2009 3:03:33 PM
EPIC TREEMEETZ
3/30/2009 3:04:55 PM
when im running 9's and shit[reverts to mental calculations...5000# weight... power necessary...uhhhh ]
3/30/2009 3:14:49 PM
shoot, we can do some diesel on diesel crime at times a lot slower than that. i might have you on power, but it's also double the weight. if you're after the c5, well, all i can say is good luck. [Edited on March 30, 2009 at 4:32 PM. Reason : 9's in the 1/8 ftw? lol]
3/30/2009 4:31:35 PM
^Have you been talking to adam8778, he and I were chatting about that earlier...barely get 9's in the 1/8th now... but yes, 9's in the quarter
3/30/2009 4:55:16 PM
haha, nah. i just figured that's probably about what it'd run.
3/30/2009 5:21:14 PM
hell, mine runs a 8.79 @ 79mph stock in the 1/8th whenever i get the time and money for a modest setup, i should be making an additional 130hp and 210 ft/lbs at the rear wheels [Edited on March 30, 2009 at 6:09 PM. Reason : and thats at well over 6k#]
3/30/2009 5:59:42 PM
180whp/5200# eat shit 69er
3/30/2009 6:15:43 PM
thats it? i'm starting out with 281whp, 365 at the crank, with an egr, cat and dpf, and a locker to lay that shit down
3/30/2009 6:43:17 PM
3/30/2009 8:22:36 PM
[Edited on March 31, 2009 at 9:06 PM. Reason : ^ill take it to work tomorrow and scan it in, hell your's should run about a 9 even]
3/31/2009 9:04:44 PM
thats the last time i let adam post a pic of me online
3/31/2009 9:11:10 PM
this was my 2wd launch with a ppe hot+2 on the 300hp setting, it was a slower 1/8th due to the massive burnout in first, still tryin to find my 4wd run, i think it's at work, it was an 8.79 1/8th, but a mid 14's 1/4 because i kept it in 4wdin case you're wondering, this pass i was running an s-10 with a 383 stroker [Edited on March 31, 2009 at 9:28 PM. Reason : and i know i redlighted, turbo spooled up too quick and the brakes didnt hold, rolled about 6"]

4/1/2009 9:03:43 PM
TWW DIESEL DRAGS
4/1/2009 9:26:03 PM
^^ it is indeed stock, its no different than running premium gas or turning the ac off, its just a plug in tuner, no actual modsit was borrowed anyway, had to give it back to the guy so he could put the tune back on his truck
4/1/2009 9:58:16 PM
lol, that's like all the "cam only" lsx cars.
4/1/2009 11:51:57 PM
thats a mechanical modification though, big difference
4/2/2009 7:24:47 AM
haha bwahahahand anything that has significant control of your fueling capabilities isnt comparable? sheeeeiiiiiiittttt.
4/2/2009 8:17:58 AM
haha i just realized that when my build is complete, I'll still have a stock turbo'd 160hp pump'd truck with stock injectors, and stock fuel plate lightly massaged, of course...stock 215hp injectors.... with bigger tips and added pintle liftstock fuel plate... ground flat!stock turbo... over a BIG FAT FUCKER[Edited on April 2, 2009 at 9:46 AM. Reason : -]
4/2/2009 9:44:50 AM
so technically according to 69 it'll be stock.
4/2/2009 7:32:31 PM
just bolt ons. that's all the extra turbo is technically, right?
4/2/2009 7:42:17 PM
^^^ how much did you drop on all that and how much time did you spend on it for 160hp? if it is more than $800 or 15 minutes, then cummins :fail:[Edited on April 2, 2009 at 7:57 PM. Reason : well that time and money for twice the power, so make it $400 and 7.5min]
