I'm going to Frankfurt at the end of the month, but only for a few days. My friend will be there on business and gets done on Thursday, but is staying until Sunday, so I'm going Wed. night (arrive Thu. morning) through Sunday. What should we do?

bring some cross training shoes for that airport, it makes the walk to baggage claim at denver seem like goin to the fridge for a beer also a bad time of year to head there, last time i was there in march, i slept in the airport for 2 days waiting for my flight to dulles, while it snowed 4 feet

Yeah I noticed it's cold there. We're staying in the hotel that's in or attached to the airport, and I guess we can take a train downtown or something.

when my plane landed, 6 plow trucks would clea the runway, a plane would land, and by the time they turned around to do it again, atleast an inch of snow had fallen, it was crazyi'd prefer northern germany this time of year, like the rostock/nuebrandenburg area, a few hours north of berlin, its a lot milder there

Yeah I've never been to Germany so I don't know what we'll be able to get to around Frankfurt. I know there's the local and long distance train stations at the airport, so we might be able to get somewhere cool for one of the days.

the public transportation is great there, you have no need to a car to get anywhere, from the cross country trains between major cities, to local trains, to busses that go to every bumfuck little town, i would reccomend topping out an audi tt on the autobahn while you're there, or an opel, both are about as thrilling, but the opel is half as fast, but twice as hard to control

If you've ever been to Seattle, german cities are like that except replace english with german and indian/asian cab drivers with turkish cab drivers.

frankfurt is one of my least favorite german cities from a tourist standpoint. You can hit all of the sights in a day or two at most. The train station in the airport is really convenient and makes it really easy to get into the city or to catch a train to another city. If I were you, I would take at least a day or two to visit one of the smaller towns/cities in that region. Heidelberg was a decent small town to explore for a day and it is very easy to get to from Frankfurt.

i would definitely recommend rodeburger and paulaner hefe, both are national beers, the local ones are great too, up north, pilsners like rostocker and berliner are more common, where you'll be it will probably be more wheat beersand you have to try some gorbachev russian vodka, never seen it iin the states, its cloudy, will fuck you up, and will give you the worst hangover ever , but seriously though, der gute pott is some incredible german rum, and the region you'll be in is reknowned for their wine, you will love the liqour stores the size of a super wal-mart
