Apparantly the cyst on his hip bone requires immediate surgery and he is out until late May at the earliest.

Passing up A-Rod to draft Jose Reyes was the best fantasy move I've ever made.

Time to put on my salisburyboy hat:ARod had his meeting with MLB on Sunday. Soon after, he announces this hip injury. The original prognosis is that he will miss 10 weeks (though it could be longer). 10 weeks from now would be right around game 50, give or take a few. MLB's suspension for a 1st time failed steroids test is 50 games. Put those 2 things together, and this "hip injury" could be suspension. Now, to take off the salisburyboy hat, this injury could be pretty bad. The Yankees could be in big trouble. Over the last couple of seasons, the Yankees haven't exactly started off strong. This just adds extra pressure to the big free agents that they signed in the off-season.

Hip injury - "suspension for steroids" = Retirement - "suspension for gambling"Did Bud take a page out of David's book ?
