I need to move a number of folders worth of Excel spreadsheets from one server to another. I copied them all but then I noticed the cells that are linked to other spreadsheets are still linked to the direct path of the old server locations. I want to update all the link paths to the new server location. Is there an easy way to do this with some type of batch command or am I going to be stuck manually changing each one? The spreadsheets are all in .XLS (97-03) format, but I have Excel 2007 if that helps. Thanks.

you should be able to go into Edit-Links to break/change the link propertieshave no idea how you'd batch it...i'd probably just set up a macro (record, playback X times) to process each folder of files...that's probably the quickest (you just have to use keyboard commands for selecting each file) unless you have a shitton of foldershere's a good one: http://www.jitbit.com/macrorecorder.aspxlooks like there's some programs meant for this too:http://www.google.com/search?q=copy+excel+files+break+link&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-aoh wait this looks like exactly what you want: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/188449/EN-US/[Edited on February 23, 2009 at 6:03 PM. You could do a Ctrl+F, click Replace, Look In formulas, apply to Workbook, and replace the pathnames.
