no smoking and no alcohol? i could see maybe smoking outside, but alcohol?what about banging? 1 week without sex, alcohol, or smoking sounds like a prison bid, not a vacation..

nevermind, they just called back to say they also have the policy that no college students allowed. :-\

even if they didn't have a rule regarding college kids - what were the chances that a beach house rental for a week with no alcohol on a college message board would ever work
2/21/2009 9:50:25 AM
yeah that really sounded like hell

you thought this shit sounded like good time? dumbshit

are they legally allowed to exclude college students?also, i've never heard of alcohol not being allowed.

Why would anyone (especially 20 somethings) go to the beach on vacation and not drink?^ and I am pretty sure that if it is privately owned property then they can rent or not rent to whomever they want. I might be wrong though.[Edited on February 21, 2009 at 3:57 PM. Reason : a]

^^ you can't do that on a lease. maybe weekly rentals are a different story. i don't know.

the fair housing act prohibits discrimination based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, family status and disability; but i think anything else is kosher

thats right unless you will be staying/living there at the same time.age discrimination is fair game.[Edited on February 22, 2009 at 12:15 AM. Reason : .]

yeah a lot of places have a age restriction on staying somewhere. last year I wanted to go to the beach and was definitely a year shy of getting into a lot of places. "must be 25 or married"

In Myrtle Beach, security deposits are $250+ more for college students.
