I only found one thread in the search, it was from 2005 so was way beyond bumping. Regardless, the beta is now available.http://www.goldeneyesource.net/http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4hNJL2q5P8Watching that video brought back fond memories of middle school.

never really played goldeneye on the n64. I know I missed out on an era that said, the gameplay trailer looks awful, and I'll bet tons of people download this out of nostalgia and end up disappointed buy team fortress 2 and call it a day.

I was waiting on the Goldeneye project based on the Crysis engine. I think that project has been abandoned. While this effort is appreciated, something about it was off. Maybe it was youtube, or the video conversion, or whatever but I was expecting the framerate to be a little better than it was on the n64.

can I play this without having HL2?
2/10/2009 12:35:20 PM
i bet it'll be filled with cheap people that run around using oddjob
2/10/2009 12:54:57 PM
oddjob with a mouse won't be too bad. it was just a bitch on N64 c-downing

Not a true replication unless it cuts down to 2 frames per second whenever four players appear on screen at once.
2/10/2009 1:04:44 PM
As long as the spawn location order doesn't change, I should be able to get a ton of easy kills

All I can say is:Proximety mines with one-hit-kill mod enabled. You move, you die. You respawn, you die.
2/10/2009 3:31:09 PM
I remember locking up the game by setting up tons of proximity mines together and then shooting one.
2/10/2009 3:48:49 PM
1. Download and install Project64 emulator2. Download 'GoldenEye 007 (U) [!].z64'3. Profit
2/10/2009 4:38:42 PM
^Can you get that to work with a keyboard and mouse? Can you get more than 4 people playing that at once? Split screen?
2/10/2009 4:46:52 PM
I have a USB controller that works with the emulatordunno about split screen, haven't messed around with it much
2/10/2009 5:04:49 PM
me + complex + proximity mines = my brother hates playing me in that game to this day
2/10/2009 7:13:51 PM
So where can i get this? Is it single player and multiplayer?
2/10/2009 11:57:14 PM
^Hmm.... if only I had posted the link to the official site in the first post of the thread...

mines were such a bitch set of weapons to use
2/11/2009 8:37:15 AM
I think I could actually be good at this game with a mouse/keyboard.
2/11/2009 9:02:37 AM
Facility FTW
2/11/2009 9:14:36 AM
When it came to proximity mines, I as always more of a fan of the archives level. Or at least I think it was the archives one... the one where the walls were green and white. There was one room in the basement with tons of columns and a catwalk leading to it. I'd always throw mines under the catwalk or behind doors.
2/11/2009 9:18:16 AM
i liked the temple, license to kill with grenade launchers
2/11/2009 11:34:47 AM
^^I think it was called library when it was both basement + archives? or maybe the other way around it's been awhile. Definitely gonna check this out.

I played source a little while back, but no one was ever online, and those that did seemed to cheat, pretty hardcore, so i quickly wrote it off
2/12/2009 12:52:56 AM
this game isn't that fun. it takes way too long to kill people for a PC game.
