Ok, I know this has been discussed a little before, but I searched and didn't find much. I have Handbrake, and was able to use it for a few things like some DVDs from bands shows etc. But with my Arrested Development DVDs and my Freaks and Geeks DVDs (legit owned copies) it won't do it because of copyright protection. Whats the best way around this as I dont plan to repurchase anything from the itunes store that i already legally own (and they dont even have freaks and geeks on there anyways)?

thanks man! I just ripped it to a Video_TS folder instead of ISO because Handbrake reads those, just to cut out the middle step. And since I really don't need the DVD file on my computer ill probably just erase the TS folder once I've gotten it into the smaller Ipod friendly format. Thanks again.

haha no worries. I figured I would have to do something like this, I just wasnt sure what the best program was. I need to mess with the settings in both Decrypter and Handbrake to see about ripping one episode at a time or something. Also, its not that big of a deal, but however I am doing it now, it basically treats each tv dvd as a movie with multiple chapters once its in Itunes(ie if there are 3 episodes with 6 chapters each it just rips it as movie with 18 chapters). My only initial solution was to just selectively choose files in decrypter to rip as individual episodes, but there isnt really a great way to organize it once its on the ipod because it will just list every episode for every show I have under movies and as far as I can tell you cant subfolder organize movies like you can music (ie show, season, episode). I can deal for now though

You should be able to - TV shows for itunes have metadata associated with them just like music.Right click on the episode (if you've got them split up) and then click on "Get Info"you should be able to edit all of the info there

Oh Im an idiot..I had already done all of that, Episode name, number, show name, season number etc. But on one of the last tabs that i didnt go to i had to change the media type to tv show Otherwise, no matter where I had it dragged to in my itunes it was sorting as if it was a movie and ignoring the data I had entered when sorting for some reason. Now they have grouped up into their respective folders.

If you have a supported video card you can use badaboom and it will encode faster. http://badaboomit.com/?q=node/1I think you'll still have to rip it with another program first since[dvd-decrypter] badaboom won't de-encrypt a dvd.
