and a conservative one at that....however, he probably has worked out a deal for a Republican to be appointed....of course, we still have Coleman trying to steal the seat he lost....

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28926767/

Quote :
"President Barack Obama appeared Saturday to be leaning toward appointing a third Republican to his Cabinet, a move that would place the fiscally conservative Sen. Judd Gregg at the head of the Commerce Department even though a liberal Democrat was initially tapped for the post.

The appointment of the New Hampshire Republican — his family has close ties to the family of former President George W. Bush — also could bring the Senate closer to the 60-vote majority Democrats need to thwart Republicans seeking to filibuster legislation. However, there was no guarantee that New Hampshire's independent-minded governor would replace Gregg with a Democrat.

Republicans privately hoped Gregg would negotiate a deal that would allow the GOP keep the seat. Some suggested party elders Warren Rudman or Walter Peterson while others pointed to Doug Scamman, a former speaker of the New Hampshire House and one of Gov. John Lynch's Republican allies."

I like that the president is picking people who are fiscally moderate to conservative while keeping the social agenda liberal. The next best thing he can do is let these new appointees of his blast the pork out of the stimulus package (minus the environmental stuff. Hands off!) and then get some work done.

When that clown Franken makes those double counted votes stick, the socialists may have another seat. I thought Obama's election was a sorry commentary on the intelligence of the American electorate, but for Al Franken to be within reach of a senate seat if he can pull off a little Chicagoland style fraud a lot of voters must be dumber than I thought.

you wanna provide some..... you know.... evidence of any funny business in Minn?

btw, they said on the radio several times today that Gregg would only accept if they made a deal with the NH governor that he would appint another republican.
(btw..... would be nice if they could pass the "blagojevich amendment" or whatever ASAP so they get rid of the stupid governor appointing Senate vancancies rule)

promises made during the primaries? you mean when each candidate runs as far to their idealogical corner as possible? Yeah, real reliable there......

and no, i did not see anything too radical or out of the mainstream during the general election, and apparently neither did 70 million other Americans. what some of you guys scream out as "radical", like some sort of universal healthcare, the majority of Americans see as necessary or desirable.

are you saying that what a person says while he/she is running for high office shouldn't be trusted?

you know, I'm sure the majority of americans desire nice TVs, a ton of money without working for it, and plenty of good sex, too...we should just let the government take there of those things, too, right?

I think he supports right wing religious lunacy like Palin and JoeThePlumber influencing policy.

You can pretty much just ignore him really.

Obama's policy is shaped by left wing lunacy from Bill Ayers, Saul Alinsky, Barney Frank, Chuck Schumer, and Nancy Pelosi, and he's trying to push a trillion dollars of pork by calling it a stimulus bill.
You can ignore moron, really.

Trying to steal back the seat he lost through an illegal recount? You should try harder than that

A better solution to fixing the healthcare problem is to get rid of all these outrageous lawsuits and liabilities that doctors are being held accountable for. Healthcare wouldn't be nearly so expensive if it weren't for all those idiotic judges awarding money like its the Powerball lottery. Another entitlement is the last thing this debt ridden government needs.
