I'm looking at selling mine and my girlfriend's laptops.Hp dv6000 laptop specs:AMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-52 1.6ghz dual core processor 15.4 inch screen 2gb of DDR2 667 mhz ram 80 gb hard drive Nividia 6150 mobile gpu Windows Vista Business 32bit or Windows Xp Media Center edition (your choice... Will install a fresh copy of whichever you choose)This laptop was purchased 2 years ago right after christmas and has been a great laptop. The motherboard and wireless card were replaced last year under warranty by HP so they are both newer. I upgraded the ram and processor just this month as well. The battery was replaced this summer and is the 12 cell long life battery... 2-3+ hours per charge.Gateway ML3109 specs:Intel Celeron M CPU 520 @ 1.6ghz 14.1 inch screen2gb DDR2 667mhz ram 80gb hard drive ATI Radeon X1300 mobile gpu 32 bit Windows Vista Home operating system This computer is 1.5 years old and the battery lasts for about 2-3+ hours as well. There is a button that ejects the mattery missing on the bottom. It doesn't impact performance and isn't noticeable. There is another button that locks the battery in that keeps it from falling out or anything.Pics of both laptops are in my gallery... both are also posted on craigslistpm with any questions... Please post bids in this topicThanks,

Someone from craigslist offered to trade me an HP 2133 for the HP dv6000. I will probably take that unless someone can do $400 on here. The gateway is still available.

sounds like the HP was on the same road as mine. motherboard, wireless card and soundboard were all replaced last year under warranty. just this last week my battery went from being able to hold a full charge and last 2-3 hours to not hold any charge at all and the fan is running at full speed the whole time i have it on.

LOL. I'm not sure why they have to replace the whole motherboard when the wireless card goes out but oh well. You should check out the extended battery. I got one at circuit city for $70 bucks on sale and it lasts allmost double the old batter. If your fans running at full speed the whole time you should take the thing apart and wipe the thermal paste off the processor and apply more. When I upgraded the processor on mine there was hardly any thermal paste left...[Edited on January 21, 2009 at 12:53 PM. Reason : s]

well it was all because of problems with the fan. there are recalls on it, and you can send it in to get it fixed...i cant find the link right now, but if you already sent it in they have fixed it. basically the fan wouldnt run enough causing the computer to overheat, eventually frying the motherboard. after replying to this thread i ran a health check and found some drivers i needed to update and now my fan is running at a normal speed and battery is holding a charge find. whereas before it was telling me that i needed to totally replace the battery.

I'll look for the other drivers... It would be interesting if my old battery started holding a charge again.

No luck on the old battery... All the drivers were up to date.Ok: where I'm at right now. Her laptop is still for sale. The first person to do $300 for it takes it... I'll even deliver.Come on, its a working, nice laptop with 2 gb of ram and windows vista.
