OK if he wants out let him leave somehow & i hope we can get something out of him

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/...tory?id=3839736

Defensive end Julius Peppers let the Carolina Panthers know he is looking for a change of scenery.
"The front office has been informed of my desire to explore opportunities with other NFL teams following the expiration of my contract next month," Peppers said in a statement released by his agent Carl Carey. "At this point in my NFL career, I am seeking new challenges that will allow me to grow, develop and reach my personal potential on the football field.

"I strongly feel that making a move at this time is in my best interest. I appreciate the entire Panthers organization and am thankful for the seven seasons I've spent with the team."

The Panthers have the option to franchise Peppers, which would mean paying him nearly $17 million next season.

"Julius is firm in his decision that he needs a change," Carey said. "He feels that he can thrive in another system. While he has been selected to four Pro Bowls and designated as an All-Pro during his career, he feels that he has yet to develop to his full potential. This is the case of a great player who seeks to become an elite one."

I'd let him go if we get a good deal for him. No use in franchising the guy when he wants out and then having him put in subpar efforts.

Trade him for Mario Williams...

As if the Texans would trade Williams for Peppers.

^ I got one also, It was the cheapest one on ebay. Oh well, I've been looking for an excuse to get a D. Williams jersey.

So people criticize Peppers for his work ethic, and say he needs to go

then they criticize him for wanting to leave?

Not going to the HOF so who cares what Peppers does, and unless a player is going to the Hall why buy his jersey. It's like all those people Collins panthers jerseys....now they wash their cars with them.

Hahaha, Peppers has apparently just all of a sudden decided that he's an OLB.

Steve Smith may want out one day to win a Super Bowl if he doesn't get one with Carolina.

The difference is like Kris Jenkins, Peppers never assimilated to life in Charlotte. Steve Smith has a family is very active in the community and generally likes Charlotte. Peppers never did, he's not married no kids that we know about and is a very quiet guy.

He has all the god given talent in the world but he doesn't have a passion for football anymore, now when he leaves he may find that passion, time will tell.

The Panthers still need to try and trade him for picks. They should try to get what Minnesota gave for Jared Allen.

The problem with comparing Steve Smith to Peppers is Smith plays hard every game Peppers loafs for most of the game and makes 1 or 2 plays. And he is not double teamed every play so don't use that excuse he just doesn't try. I think he is a heartless player who is overhyped but makes big plays from time to time he will be very hard to replace.

I have a Peppers jersey too, but my husband bought it for spite. I wanted a Moose jersey.

This is the same fucker that said he didn't play as hard as he could when he was in college. I will be glad to see him go. He has hardly done shit since his first 2-3 seasons.

Yep...I really hate the way he plays. But now that I think about it, it does seem like he wants to play outside linebacker. He has a speed rush to the outside and that's about it...he either gets a sack, gets blown out of the play, or kinda drifts at the line of scrimmage playing some kind of zone coverage it seems.

I was there. He was with his hott ass rich girlfriend from Hawaii, whose family happens to live in San Diego. After the team went out there early he all of a sudden fell in love with that place and out of love with Charlotte. Thats when he stopped talking regarding the contract. He also is more of a loaner, always has been since HS. However he seems to enjoy Charlotte. Has nice condo off 6th near postplace. Oh well.

i hate that he wants to leave, but youre fucking idiots if you think he had bad work ethic and didn't do shit since his first 2-3 years. Peppers is one of the best defensive players in the league, he had 1 bad year, and whether he went to unc or not, i'll miss him a lot.

he had 14.5 sacks and 5 forced fumbles this year, id assume that at least some of those are game changing.

Fuck Delhomme and fuck Ken Lucas too while we're at it. Also, Trgovac. And the OC for not running the ball.

You know what, fuck all of them.

and you'd assume wrong since pretty much all his sacks happened late in games that were already decided
