So I just recently got some glasses and had a few questions. What do you do about sunglasses? I have purchased some of the big ole go over type and I like them but wondering what most of you do.

i have transitions lenses, but they're really only good for outside activities b/c UV rays don't come through car windows to make them turn dark (plus i don't wear glasses while driving). if you need glasses while driving, i'd get prescription ones (that are permanently dark).

^can you not get it from your optometrist?

I've had prescription sunglasses for about the past 10 years; while it does suck having to keep track of/carry around a case if you're going anywhere on a sunny day, there's really not a better alternative IMO. You can get prescription lenses put into a lot of different frames, depending on what your style is.

I have sunglasses that clip to the bridge of my glasses. The last time I bought glasses I spent a lot of time looking for a pair that had the clip-ons but didn't make me look like a complete dork. I also have a pair a cheap normal sunglasses for the rare occasions that I wear my contacts.

I dont mind wearing the old people ones so I think I am just going to do that for now until I can get my scrip. I dont really like this pair so I start new insurance in a few weeks so I think I will go and get another pair for now, I just cant see myself wearing contacts.

If I'm in a situation where I NEED to wear sunglasses, I just wear my contacts. Otherwise I just suck it up.

i just started wearing glasses and was wondering the same thing about sunglasses. i'd grown so used to sunglasses that i pretty much can't tolerate a bright sunny day without them. i didn't get the transitions or clipons because they would be useless due to my small frames. That zenni site may come in handy.
