My dad's always used Autocraft. I've always used Autocraft myself as well. With that said, do you guys have any recommendations?

My OEM Honda battery from 2003 crapped itself about 2 years ago.

Replaced with a Duralast Gold and it's been kickin ever since.

Also just bought a Duralast Gold for my jeep project and it hasnt let me down yet...even used it to winch a few times

Walmart's store brand Everlast was the top rated battery last year and the previous year. i've you and your father have always used Autocraft without any complaints, why would you want to switch now?

There's an Interstate battery warehouse in Garner that sells reconditioned batteries for $30. I never keep a car more than a year(sometimes less than a month) so it's worked great for me so far.

^^^^^Well because they generally last about 3 years, which is still under free replacement warranty and we just get another for free. The last one I had lasted only 1 year (Kinda turned me off the brand).

I have to replace the one in the mazda and I wanted to know what my options were. The Autocraft titanium was going to be ~$100 so I just wanted to shop around for other good brands. I got an AC Delco for $28.00 new, so I'm happy.

I have heard great things about Optima dry cells which I may switch to in the Porsche later down the road.

my redtop has yet to fail me. optima's warranty is pretty good on those 3yr replacement w. 3 yr prorated.

btw optimas are still wet cells they are just agm which means they don't leak need water etc.

I have a dead Optima Blue Top, but nobody ever pulled the date stickers off. Does that mean it is less than 18 months old and still in full warranty?

i have never had a delco last less than 8 years

as a matter of fact, the original in my '92 gmc lasted for 11 years

my delco lasted ~4 years in my newer car. died when there was a cold snap. no warning. thanks ac delco. it's ok though, walmart batteries ftw.

my truck still has the carquest that was in it when i bought it. stickers are punched out for 2003. no more than i drive in when i'm at school, i'm expecting it to go out this winter. it's not maintenance-free though and it leaks. ate through the long bolts holding the battery strap on. they got replaced with 1/4" all-thread.

^I haven't checked to see if it holds a charge. The "old" battery still works, just struggles to hold a charge if I don't drive it for a day or so. I swapped the batteries and the ground terminal post didn't spark like it should (if there was juice). No, it didn't come with plastic terminal caps so no, that's not it. Before someone says something, yes the leads are clean and they make contact. I definitely know this because I put the old battery back in after-wards and the car starts just fine.

I'm going to see about them Everlasts...

And no, this isn't going to be a 50 page thread.

My favorite thing about my optimas is the fact that you can run them 100% dead as many times as you want, they'll come right back to you. This is especially important in my jeep because i'm having a parasitic draw problem i'm too lazy to figure out

I have 2 red tops in my truck and 1 in my jeep, never looking back.

lol. ^I've got a red top on my play truck and its lasted 6 years now. It would also sit for semesters at a time and I can't remember it going dead once...but I've also got a marine off/on switch under the hood.
