I've seen Circuit City advertising 480 Hz TVs. I personally don't believe it.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16889187081Million to 1 contrast ratio and 8 times the framerate of a standard signal?[Edited on December 28, 2008 at 12:56 AM. Reason : NVM, did some reading, 480Hz = 60 fps x 8 fields/frame = marketing stunt]

The industry is trying to figure out what the next new feature for 2009 will be.In the beginning we had 720, then 1080i and 720p; then 1080p; then 1080p/120hz to fix 2:3 pulldown, but marketing misinterpreted that as something that benefits something other than watching Blu-ray, which is all it will ever do for the next 10 years (broadcasts will not be any higher than 1080i for a LONG time, and most games are 720p)
