So after all this garbage during the election cycle about Palin being the "best" choice for VP, John McCain won't even support her if she runs.

he's just setting himself up for the upcoming tell-all book - "How I Sold My Soul and Went Against Everything I Stand for to Gain the Republican Nomination for President"
12/14/2008 5:47:53 PM
he didn't say he wouldn't support her.he said he couldn't make that kind of statement at this time.
12/14/2008 6:29:47 PM
No, he said this
12/14/2008 6:31:51 PM
but really, who cares? mccain is just searching for credibility after a humiliating defeat and a horrible insult of a VP pick.

You have to decipher what a politician means. If a former candidate is talking up other governors a month after the election, its safe to look through the diplomatic speak and see that there's bad blood between them.

palin backfiredshe caused a jump in polls for mccain , the only time during the whole election, but it was done as an immediate response to the booming obama after the DNC convention. It was done haphazardly, a short term answer to a campaign long problem. she was the answer to the alienated hillary democrats. mccain saw the overpowering obama and had to result to drastic measures. it worked, but only shortlived. "youre damned if you do, and youre damned if you dont". if the media jumped on biden like they did palin, this would be comparable, because when he didnt know the answer, he would create one .. 94 times in the debate.she wasnt the best pick, but it got mccain the only lead he had. and you would have problems with any choice he made, so lets not kid ourselves

I am surprised by how much McCain is distancing himself from Palin. By not declaring loudly from the hill that he totally supports her he giving credibility to all the rumors of bad blood between his campaign and Palin. To think there's a chance she may be the face of the Republican party for the next 4 years...STOP BEING SO FUCKING STUPID, REPUBLICANSCOME BACK TO THE FUCKING CENTER SO SOME OF US WHO ARE NOT TREE HUGGING DOUCHEBAGS CAN JOIN YOUR STUPID FUCKING PARTY

This is pretty good to hear.I wonder if we'll see more signs of him becoming the person he was before he was the nominee.
12/14/2008 11:06:07 PM
people have been predicting his "i'm sorry" phase since he became the nominee. he did the same thing in 2000.

if John McCain 2000 would have run on "middle road" stances, and picked a running mate who wasnt a complete dipshit...he might have fucking won.

^I think the reason McCain got many of the votes he got..was due to Palin. The GOP gave their people a terrible candidate.

McCain got votes for picking Palin...he got the wacky religious right votes while the normal republicans who weren't impressed that Palin was "filled with the holy spirit" ran away...the people who voted b/c of Palin probably also think that the economy going to hell is a sign of the rapture coming.
