I shot it about 4 years ago. It's at Battle Park in Rocky Mount, NC. On the east side of the park near the boat ramps for the Tar River. Don't be there anywhere near sunset or after dark.

\/ I just saw it out there one day. It used to be totally bad ass. you can still see the eyes and the stache, although they are slowly being eroded.

one of those places you def wouldn't stop unless you knew what it was (because it was like a hole in the wall)

The church right up the road (can't even remember the name now) is the one my dad went to as a kid. And my granddad designed the front of it.

The Mackeys Ferry Peanuts in the picture is actually back near Jamesville on hwy 64. They closed down the one near Simp's (before the bypass opened up I think).

For the love of god. Please don't lump Carolina Beach, Onslow County and Emerald Island as 'Eastern North Carolina.' Eastern NC is very different than SE NC. This thread needs to represent Martin, Washington, Hyde, Tyrrell, Dare. The US 64 Corridor.
