Hey, everyone,I just built a new computer, but I'm having some trouble getting it to connect to the Internet. I just installed Windows XP Pro on it, and activated it.I plugged my network cable into the onboard LAN adapter, and the LEDs on the back are blinking (one is steady green, two are blinking orange). When I go into the command prompt and type ipconfig or ipconfig/all, nothing useful comes up (just "Windows IP Configuration" and then nothing). When I go to network connections, one connection shows up: it says "1394 connection" and it's connected and firewalled, but when I right-click on it and go to "Status," I'm not getting any packets. If I right-click on it and then hit "Repair," I get an error message that says "Windows could not finish repairing the problem because the following action cannot be completed: Failed to query TCP/IP settings of the connection. Cannot proceed."Can anyone help me with this problem? Do I just have to figure out the right IP address to put into the TCP/IP properties, or is it something else? Thanks,Charles

sounds like your nic drivers aren't installedput the CD that came with your motherboard in and install the appropriate driver package[Edited on December 9, 2008 at 1:25 AM. Reason : "1394 connection" is your firewire port]

This probably means that he has none of the motherboard drivers installed. On my MSI P7n, you install all of the motherboard drivers at once.
