Who is going to see Ol' Lew tonight at the DPAC?Seen him once in D'town, and he was hillarious. This is his first standup since the election, and I am expecting all new material.

I want to go, but I'm not going to pay 60+ to do it.

ticket prices were too much

Thats what most good comedians cost these days. I've spent a lot more for Seinfeld. I've seen most all of the bigs, and Lewis has only come in second to the first time I saw Seinfeld (seen him 3 times).

I have seen Lewis Black, George Carlin, Jerry Seinfeld, and Bill Cosby. I think the cheapest ticket was Bill Cosby at $40 a seat. I should also state that I said 'most', not all, are going to run around $60. Thats for an average seat.By 'good', I should have stated 'popular'. Norm is not wildly popular. He is funny, just not going to fill up 2000 seats when he comes to Raleigh, thus why he visited a small venue, and tickets were cheap.BTW. You CAN get seats for his show at under $40. Just the best seats are $60+. I'd have to say that from the looks of it, a $40 ticket is going to be almost as good as a $60 ticket in this venue.[Edited on December 3, 2008 at 1:48 PM. Reason : .]

Honestly, I hated his show. I found his warm up guy more funny. I cant say, though, that I ever really liked his stuff. I just decided I'd take the opportunity to see him when I could.

Why would you pay money to see someone you don't like?A legend might as well not be one if you don't like him.

oops, i meant to agree w/ Big Business, not jaZon.lewis black is mediocre at best.

I was impressed with the DPAC. I sat in a $38 seat and didn't feel like I was really that far from the stage. I don't think I would have paid almost double to get in the orchestra section ... maybe for someone who adds a tad more to their act through physical humor, like Robin Williams (super stoked btw) I liked Lewis Black, although I was a fan before this show. I thought the opening guy was just OK, but his John McCain bit had me rolling.

I hated the warm up guy. Lewis was pretty good. Very impressed with the facility. I even sent them a note. All the signage to find the place and parking was great.
