the same reason the Cowboys played in Charlotte 2 years in a row.The NFL Flex schedule works like this. This is the Panthers Schedule6 Games against Division opponents Home and Away4 Games against the NFC North 2 Home(Chicago and Detroit) 2 Away (Green Bay and Minnesota)4 Games against the AFC West 2 Home (Denver and Kansas City) 2 Away (Oakland and San Diego)2 Games against the other NFC Conferences based on your division rank the previous season So last year the Panthers were 3rd in the NFC South so they play the team that finished 3rd in the NFC West (Arizona) and NFC East (New York Giants) since they are playing every team in the NFC North and South. You get one game at home and one on the road to equal your 8 home games and 8 road games. The Panthers played the Cards last year too it was in Arizona. I really am not sure how they determine the home and road games here. This Season it breaks down like this. The NFC East plays the NFC West and AFC North The NFC South plays the NFC North and AFC WestThe NFC North plays the NFC South and the AFC SouthThe NFC West plays the NFC East and the AFC EastThe AFC East plays the AFC West and NFC WestThe AFC South plays the AFC North and the NFC NorthThe AFC North plays the AFC South and the NFC EastThe AFC West plays the AFC East and the NFC SouthHope this helps
