I know it's a bit early to speculate, but should we beat Miami, I'd go to this bowl.
11/25/2008 11:24:22 AM
I'd go to this. I love RFK stadium!
11/25/2008 11:27:34 AM
Why an 11 am kickoff though? I thought this was going to be played at the Nationals new stadium?

nothing screams college football like...washington, dc
11/25/2008 11:58:37 AM
Haha!
11/25/2008 12:01:06 PM
I would contemplate going to this game only because I'd like to hang out in DC for a few days.
11/25/2008 12:05:15 PM
I actually want to go to Boise since this is the last year.....lol. I think the trip and the game would be really fun and cool to experience.
11/25/2008 12:06:03 PM
After this start, I don't give a damn what bowl game they put us in...Aug 28 @South Carolina Lost 0-34 Sep 6 William & Mary Won 34-24 Sep 13 @Clemson Lost 9-27 Sep 20 East Carolina Won 30-24 Sep 27 South Florida Lost 10-41 Oct 4 Boston College Lost 31-38 Oct 16 Florida St. Lost 17-26 Oct 25 @Maryland Lost 24-27 If we can take care of business on Saturday, this team would be happier than hell to go to a bowl game, and I think we would put on a show in DC attendance-wise as well. Not a bad drive up there and a good bit of NCSU alums around DC/VA.GO PACK[Edited on November 25, 2008 at 12:08 PM. Reason : ]
11/25/2008 12:07:08 PM
nah, i think we should decline any invitation and just get ready for next seasonactually, i think we need to defeat miami and delete all these bullshit threads about bowl games until that happens[Edited on November 25, 2008 at 12:08 PM. Reason : gf]
11/25/2008 12:07:54 PM
I agree with your second statement, but why should we decline an invitation? the most important part of going to a shitty bowl is the 20 or so extra practices that would be crucial in getting us ready for next year. the bowl itself is meaningless other than the trip and swag for the players.
11/25/2008 12:20:58 PM
^^agreed. Im trying to not even think about a bowl game atm[Edited on November 25, 2008 at 12:22 PM. Reason : ^]
11/25/2008 12:21:47 PM
poor TOMFB if we do have to play navy on the plus side, party at terpball's.
11/25/2008 12:25:14 PM
seriously bobby, seriously?
11/25/2008 12:28:04 PM
You should never decline a bowl invitation. The extra practices really do help when you have a young team. And if you've got some recruits near the DC area, its nice to get them in to see the team and coaches more. And its always nice to tell recruits that you went to a bowl the year before as opposed to saying you didn't...whether you turned it down or not.And there's always the added revenue.
11/25/2008 12:37:17 PM
^^ ok, i guess now i change my stance.
11/25/2008 12:53:25 PM
11/25/2008 1:08:03 PM
Go DC United! lol
11/25/2008 1:12:39 PM
I'd be down for going to this shitIt's only a couple hrs away for me
11/25/2008 2:08:15 PM
I went to a few Mets-Nats games in RFK. Crappy ass stadium. Even 3/4 full for a baseball game the beer line was INSANE. The stadium sections shake when something good happens. There is NOTHING around it. It rained hard every time I went. The new Nats ballpark is $$$ though...
11/25/2008 2:09:23 PM
11/25/2008 2:27:48 PM
If we made it for this one, i'd definitely be down for going
11/25/2008 2:29:12 PM
^^ Marching band kids get a huge benefit for going to the games.
11/25/2008 2:47:08 PM
id probably go, but then again, i live 30 minutes from DC.its the only bowl i would possibly go to. im not travelling a long distance to see a 6-6 team play.[Edited on November 25, 2008 at 3:10 PM. Reason : d]
11/25/2008 2:58:19 PM
i hope State does make this bowl game. I'm already going to it as a Navy alumni, and my brother and our good friend (both state grads) will be there with me. maybe i could do one of those half navy/half state shirt things
11/25/2008 3:41:51 PM
Good seats still available! Probably right up until gametime...I'd be down to go, drive up and back the same day, spend $75 on a ticket. We'd probably lose though, I wish we got to trade one of those losses for a loss to GT so we'd have seen the option.
11/25/2008 7:27:42 PM
I think I'll actually be off work that day, so a bowl in DC would be perfect.[Edited on November 25, 2008 at 7:37 PM. Reason : but of course it doesn't matter if we lose to Miami]
11/25/2008 7:32:00 PM
would this be payback by the bowl gods for the Meineke bowl we played in Charlotte? D.C. is what, 30 miles from Annapolis?[Edited on November 25, 2008 at 7:55 PM. Reason : fg]

I hope they get this game. I'll be in DC that weekend anyway going to the iggles game on Sunday!
11/25/2008 8:14:33 PM
I'm in
11/25/2008 8:26:45 PM
11/25/2008 10:41:28 PM
I'm there if we play in DC. If we take care of business Saturday, I'm not convinced we are the 9th ACC team to be picked by a bowl. Considering no team will do better than 5-3 in conference, why wouldn't one of the middle tier bowls pick a 6-6 school that finished on a hot streak and travels well over say, a 7-5 Wake Forest team (if they beat Vandy) or even a letdown 7-5 or 6-6 Clemson team more concerned about who their next coach will be? We could get the nod over the Maryland-BC loser, considering their respective fanbases. Maybe we fell off the radar screen early, but I tend to think a solid win puts us in play for anything below the Gator. I think Champs Sports in Orlando takes GT, Miami, or FSU. That leaves Meineke (Charlotte), Music City (Nashville), Emerald Bowl (San Francisco), Humanitarian (Boise), and Eaglebank (DC) as other viable options. On the other hand, I'll take Eaglebank against Navy in DC over the blue turf Humanitarian Bowl any day, and a last minute SF trip on December 27 isn't going to be that practical for most fans this year. How would you like to be a MAC team, when the best you can ever hope for is Christmas in Detroit?
11/26/2008 5:15:30 AM
Clemson has to win against South Carolina and get to 7 games b/c two of their 6 wins are over DI-AA teams and you can only count one of those wins toward bowl eligbility.
11/26/2008 8:15:52 AM
yeah, we've already been through that
11/26/2008 9:25:34 AM
11/26/2008 9:32:38 AM
FFK has plenty of watering holes at the Eastern Market and Capital Hill stops, and plenty of parking to tailgate in.
