11/25/2008 9:22:46 AM
picking a QB for one game? for 1 season? to start a career? if it was one game or season I'd take Peyton...if it was for the future I wouldnt take Peyton or Warner or anyone too old

11/25/2008 9:52:06 AM
Mcnabbhahahahahhahhhahahahhahhaahaha
11/25/2008 10:16:01 AM
Rodgers and Ryan have never won playoff games since they're rookies (either technically rookies, or first year starters)whose the only other QB on that list to not win a playoff game? Thats right, its Tony Homo, the January chokester
11/25/2008 10:16:07 AM
^only played one playoff game and He lost to eventual Super Bowl Champion NY Giantsso if you look at it that way he did just as good last year as Tom Brady and Brett Favre
11/25/2008 10:21:41 AM
I think you all have Romo wayyyy too high
11/25/2008 10:25:51 AM
11/25/2008 10:27:59 AM
^^ He also lost to Seattle the year he fumbled the hold on the game winning field goal.
11/25/2008 10:29:05 AM
sorry i have tried to forget that seattle gameRomo is a playmaker at the QB position. You have to admit thatand you cant honestly say that Romo would not be in your top 5
11/25/2008 10:31:34 AM
You can't put Rivers in front of Eli right now. Based on this year alone?? I got:1) Brees2) Warner3) Peyton4) Eli5) Favre6) Big Ben7) Rivers8) Romo9) Ryan10) Cassel*Honorable mention to Pennington...having a solid season.Based on all-time, but "active" right now:1) Peyton2) Favre3) Warner4) Brees5) Big Ben6) Eli7) Romo8) Garcia9) Rivers10) Kerry Fucking Collins*You can't be on any of these lists if you don't know that you can tie in an NFL...and then make the statement "well what if this happened in the playoffs or the Super Bowl??"
11/25/2008 10:32:07 AM
^^regular season, yesplayoffs, hell no[Edited on November 25, 2008 at 10:32 AM. Reason : .]
11/25/2008 10:32:25 AM
^^Manning should not be number 1. He's choked in way to many big games.
11/25/2008 10:34:58 AM
He has been clutch in so many big games as well
11/25/2008 10:37:16 AM
Don't think so. He's choked a couple times...but I think he's come up big in more games. And recently he hasn't choked in shit and has been carrying a hobbling team this year. He's also equal to Favre in NFL championships. And if you had me choose between one QB to win a big game...I'm going Peyton over Favre...sorry. Both could come up big...but Favre still has the bigger chance to completely fuck you over with mistakes.
11/25/2008 10:37:57 AM
Down by 6, with 1:00 to go in the game, ball at your own 20 who do you want leading that drive??NO ONE IS EVEN CLOSE TO PEYTON, besides injured Tom Brady
11/25/2008 10:38:37 AM
I will agree since his SuperBowl year he has been clutch. But since then, he was a choker. Also Kerry Collins shouldn't be anywhere near that list.[Edited on November 25, 2008 at 10:44 AM. Reason : ]
11/25/2008 10:41:49 AM
Kerry was almost on there as a joke.However...overall...he had some very solid seasons with the Panthers, an NFC Championship season with the Giants, and a solid season this year. If you look at the overall body of work, it's not a stretch to put him around that 10 slot when compared to the other QBs in the league right now.
11/25/2008 10:46:51 AM
11/25/2008 10:59:55 AM
^ahahah. I almost posted that.
11/25/2008 11:00:16 AM
Then who would you put there??
11/25/2008 11:06:45 AM
Probably Mcnabb. It's dumb to say he doesn't deserve to be ranked because he did know you could tie in the NFL. The man can still play good football. The reason I have him at 10 and not higher is cause he gets injured, a lot.^Also does your list take age in to fact. Is this a qb for a year deal, or to build a team around.[Edited on November 25, 2008 at 11:20 AM. Reason : ]
11/25/2008 11:10:33 AM
ranking right now, based on this year1. Warner2. Brees3. Rivers4. Favre5. P. Manning6. Romo 7. Garcia8. E. Manning9. Ryan10. CasselIf it was 3 weeks ago McNabb would have been #5 or so
11/25/2008 11:30:49 AM
if it was 3 year ago, McNabb would be top 3
11/25/2008 11:36:49 AM
^^^I'd probably put McNabb there too...but can't due to my disclaimer. But even if I did put McNabb 10...I might still put Collins right after him. But TT said it...3 years ago McNabb was a top 5 QB...now he might be top 15. He's been too inconsistent and his meltdowns are pretty big.And I don't know what the qualifications are...one game, one year...I don't know. I just know that when I think of the top 10 QBs in the game...based on their body of work (which is why the younger guys take a drop compared to the first list I posted), those are my top guys.[Edited on November 25, 2008 at 11:43 AM. 11/25/2008 11:42:52 AM
11/25/2008 11:46:13 AM
11/25/2008 11:56:35 AM
^Yeah I know right? Going deep in the playoffs many years is just a horrible thing.
11/25/2008 11:58:06 AM
yea i would not want mcnabb on my teamhed forget that we use 2 completions for a first down and would probably hand the ball off
11/25/2008 11:58:35 AM
11/25/2008 12:01:10 PM
Might Jason Campbell sneak into your list?
11/25/2008 12:02:13 PM
I would have put Campbell in my first top 10 list 2 or 3 games ago....but he's now struggling against some good teams. He'd be an honorable mention on my first list.
11/25/2008 12:04:27 PM
ranking right NOW, based on this year1. Warner2. Brees3. Romo4. Peyton5. Favre6. Rivers7. Eli8. Cassel9. Thigpen10. Ryan[Edited on November 25, 2008 at 12:09 PM. Reason : V right NOW......Eli has thrown for 200 yards in exactly 1 game in his last 6]
11/25/2008 12:05:02 PM
^Man...that list is all kinds of fucked up.First...Romo ahead of Peyton?? And this is probably the smallest complaint of the list.Rivers ahead of Eli?? 1 loss versus 7? And Thigpen?? Seriously??
11/25/2008 12:08:24 PM
Tyler Thigpen has been the best QB outside of Brees/Warner the last 5 weeks so I don't see why a CURRENT list could not include him?
11/25/2008 12:11:08 PM
11/25/2008 12:12:30 PM
^^^record doesn't mean shit. Phillip has out played Eli this year, and it's not even close.1) Peyton Manning2) Drew Brees3) Phillip Rivers4) Kurt Warner5) Tony Romo6) Brett Favre7) Eli Manning8) Aaron Rodgers9) Matt Ryan10) Ben Roethlisberger]
11/25/2008 12:13:08 PM
If you are doing a list for the whole season it's different........but right now that's my list. The whole season would have to include Cutler and Rodgers, but right now they both suck ass.
11/25/2008 12:15:14 PM
well, as a chargers fan, im just a little (yea right) biased, but I would take Rivers over Eli 10/10 times. Eli has had a dominant defense, dominant RB, and a dominant OL this year whereas Rivers has the worst pass D in the league that has lost 4 games this season in the final 24 seconds, a RB that was hurt for the first half of the season, and an OL that hasn't played up to its potential this season. Yet, the only bright spot for the Chargers is Rivers and the WR core. They have really stepped up their game and are the only reason Chargers have managed to win a few games this year. As for Eli, you can replace him with any other quarterback and the Giants would still be 9-1. Also, Eli is a whiny little BITCH.
11/25/2008 12:16:40 PM
It's not like Rivers is manning an 8-3 team or a 7-4 team....the Chargers are fucking 4-7.He's had an opportunity to win a few of those games in the end and has thrown interceptions or only gotten field goals. Eli has sustained comfortable leads and engineered drives for scores when they were needed (Arizona this past week for example). And honestly...Eli's stats aren't that much worse than Rivers. He's got less yards and TDs...but he also throws less...which leads to less INTs of course. When there isn't that much of a disparity between stats...you have to look at the HUGE disparity in records. Sorry...but you've got to let-go of the State bias.
11/25/2008 12:18:48 PM
if excuses were assholesfart would be the number 1 element in the earths atmosphere
11/25/2008 12:19:52 PM
http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?tabSeq=0&statisticCategory=PASSING&season=2008&seasonType=REGYeah Rivers is just the #1 rated QB in the league. How dare us be biased and not use stats.
