I want to add some removable plastic walls for my screened in porch so I can use it more in the colder months. I'm thinking something along the lines of what they have for exterior seating at places like Mellow Mushroom or Carolina Ale House. I've searched Google but I'm not sure how to search what I'm looking for. I need to know what thickness will suffice and where I can get it locally so I don't have to pay outrageous shipping rates because I imagine it's going to be kind of heavy.

Plastic dropcloths for painting may work (lowes/home depot/etc)Not sure if thats the thickness you're looking for. You may be able to find some clear plastic tarps there too

Look I speak from experience here, wherever you buy them from, DO NOT tell them you're planning to murder someone and the plastic is to help move the body parts without getting blood everywhere.Tips 'em off every time.

If you do it right, you can get almost everything down a bathtub drain.

Go to one of the local patio furniture stores, look at what they have, then go home and look it up online.

lol, i am reminded of the bathtub scene from Breaking Bad. i called a few places and am leaning towards some clear vinyl instead of plastic. i went to ace hardware (it's close) but the stuff they had wasn't very thick and wasn't very clear. i can get the vinyl, some metal snaps to hold it in place, and a tool to attach the snaps to the vinyl for $225. unfortunately shipping is nearly $50. i think it will be worth it though. at least that's what i'm going to tell myself.thanks for all the replies, serious or humorous.

Go with the vinyl, it'll be a bit more durable in the long run. Like when a dumb bird decides to fly into it.

Why not buy some cheap clear shower curtains? That's about the right thickness and you could make "panes" with it.

that's a possibility, if they are clear enough. good idea.

My dad made some of these for our porch to keep it warm in the winter. He used vinyl and built wooden frames and just stapled it together. They look good and do help with the temperature.

I have something similar with polycarbonate roofing sheets hung over the screens as windows. They come in 4'x8' sheets at Lowes. It's wavy so there is a little bit of privacy, but it is clear. On mine the windows are basically framed out with screens on the outside wall. These hang on the inside wall about four inches from the screen.
