I just saw a commercial for this and was wondering if anyone had played it. I'm thinking my brother might like this for christmas (not you Jeepman) He plays World of Warcraft and Halo so it looked like he would like this. Let me know what you think.

Thanks.

Looks good. An RTS on a console is hard to pull off well, and I think voice-command would solve a LOT of the issues inherent in that sort of thing. I have yet to play it but I eagerly await the day one of my friends decides to buy the game.

Also I'm REALLY hoping it comes out on PC.

^download the demo its out on both ps3 and xbox360. I have it on xbox360 and it is by far a really fun RTS. The voice commands work flawlessly. You can spit out commands as fast as you want and it will pick up everything you say. It takes RTS and strategy's to a whole new level because now speed of mouse click is no longer an issue.

That's the heart of the problem right there -- I don't own either.

I haven't played it, but that footage the developers released of the two parrots playing each other to prove any accent would work on the commands was pretty amusing. The reviews really do make me want to play though especially with the troop experience stuff from brothers in arms.

heres a link to the video actually, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7TjvtXD_Og

I played the demo for 30 seconds, then I passed out after nearly choking to death on my own vomit.

A MUST NOT BUY

Ok mr. Sarcasm.

The game is overhyped, the trailer makes the game look like the shit, but in reality it is infact a piece of shit in disc form. This leads to dissapointment right off the bat. The whole game is based off the voice command system that works but isnt anything special. The combat is bland and limited. Force A engage force B. Sit and watch. Whooptie-fuckin-doo, our tanks blew the shit out of force B Force A engage force C. HOLY FUCK, our tanks blew up force C. THis game is boring as shit, ohhh god I am going to throw up.... *VOMITS IN MOUTH, CHOKES ON VOMIT, PASSES OUT*

So it's more fun for you to click on a unit and right click on an enemy and watch it "blow the shit" out of something?

I rented this from blockbuster last week and I've been enjoying it.

One thing, the game isn't entirely based on voice commands. You can, and often should, use the the controller to issue any command as well, and so this helps to multitask, or when a couple button presses get the order out rather than going "UNIT ONE - UPGRADE - ALPHA - AIRSTRIKE"

There is an obvious rock-paper-scissors dynamic to the unit engagements, but my experience has not been as bland as what's mentioned above. I'm playing on the medium difficulty level and I've found the strategic and tactical elements to be challenging. I haven't been able to just send tanks to blow shit up, I have to send supports with it, and do things like attack points I don't want to hold just to throw off the AI.

My one major complaint is that the individual units you control seem to be really dumb. You'll want to place them precisely for defense or offense, or they'll just sit out in the open taking fire until you tell them to move or attack. Seems to me like self-preservation would kick in on its own.

To me, End War stands out as a unique and fun 360 game.

That said, none of the console strategy games I've tried are as quite as good as Starcraft, which I was playing in college 10 freaking years ago. Just like none of the FPS multiplayer is as good as TFC was on PC ten freaking years ago.

well thats the thing about the voice command. I can say Unit One - Upgrade - Alpha - Airstrike a hell of a lot faster then I can click the options. You can literally say your commands as fast as possible and it will understand. Also a voice shortcut is don't say the whole word. for example you can just say "air" and it will assume airstrike

Just finished it in 30 turns with USA. Of course I cheated a lot and went back to saves when I lost and tried a different strategy, but hey, the computer has its technique and I have mine.

The game has some replay value down the road, but I'm utterly bored with it now.

I think Far Cry is next.
