Okay, i'm sure there are things some of you out there thought during this race, but you didn't say them in an effort to "promote" your candidate on here.

I know I did this on certain occasions.

For example, I still don't think Reverend Wright is a racist, but Obama's association with Wright DID bother me more than I let on.

However, I scanned 20 years of articles in the Chicago Tribune, and Wright was only in about 20 of them, and none of them mentioned his "controversial" tone, until Obama started running for president. In all the article, he was portrayed as a leader in the black community known for opposing radicals like Farrakhan (which he did on at least 2 occasions noted in the paper).

Another confession i have is about socks``. I gave him more shit than he deserved to try and dishearten him a little so he would post less.

I actually do think McCain would be an improvement over Bush, albeit a marginal one.

^^^ Palin is very charismatic, i'll give her that. That could be due though to so few feminine women at that level in politics.

I said I would write in Ron Paul numerous times but I never had any real intentions of doing that.

[Edited on November 4, 2008 at 3:44 PM. Reason : only because he didn't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning though]

I didn't really think Obama was the Messiah.

More of a major prophet.

I told everyone that I know that I was voting for Bob Barr so they wouldn't give me shit about my liberal leanings, then I voted for Obama.

If we weren't in a swing state I would have written in Ron Paul. If I didn't dislike even the remotest possibility of Perdue winning, I would have voted for Munger.

Biggest confession that I do feel a little guilty about--- I voted for Dole.

^ You probably shouldn't have confessed that.

Another confession: I only really knew anything about President, Senator, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and US representative. The other things I just went on name recognition or party.

Eh, I had some pretty good reasons for voting for Dole, I just know everyone here thinks she's the devil.

I haven't voted yet, but when I do later today, even though I don't like her at all, I'm voting for Dole strictly because she's a Republican.

Lame, I know... I'm just not comfortable with an overwhelming Democrat majority under an Obama presidency. I wouldn't be comfortable if it was the other way around either.

okay, truthfully, it's because HAGAN IS GODLESS

^^Probably because she ran one of the sleaziest campaigns in recent memory. Not to derail the thread, though.

I'm a registered Republican, but Dole is a piece of shit.

Fine go vote for Liddy. She's awful and your reasoning for voting for her is even worse...it seems like a match.

Actually, my reason has to do with Dole single-handedly helping my sister get an honorable discharge from the Army when her husband was almost killed in a car accident and had to have at-home-care for almost a year. My sister was a week away from flying to Kuwait when she got the news of the accident. She also was instrumental in helping my Dad and Uncle with starting up their business before she ever even ran for office.

Even if I don't agree with some of her decisions, she does a lot of good for people that never gets reported.

I filled out my ballot and tried to put in in the automatic scanner thing. It jammed and the old guy came over, hit the reset button, and then said "Let's try that again. Slide it in there slow and gently."

There were a lot of kids around so I couldn't yell "THATS WHAT SHE SAID!" and then I had a hard time keeping my composure.

I thought Palin was attractive the first time I saw her picture many many moons ago while doing research on the Alaskan National Wildlife Refuge. This was waaaaay before the omgshessohawtzors bandwagon arrived and before anyone outside of Alaska knew who she was. As I have stated before, her outward attractiveness quickly dissipated when I found how anti-environment she truly was.

Democrats I voted for:

Roy Cooper, attorney general
Janet Cowell, treasurer

I think I'm forgetting one, though.

I have significant concerns about a Democratic presidency and Democratic super majority. However, those concerns were not enough for me to warrant a vote against Obama.

Also, McCain could have made my decision a lot more difficult if he had not decided to pick Palin and start mirroring the Limbaugh/Hannity message on the campaign trail. In fact, early in the process I was at times split 50/50 on who to vote for.

I don't think the democrats will get a supermajority. ON a purely evil level though, I kind of wonder what true runaway power would look like... where would the dems take the country?

I would have actually voted for Kay Hagan if Liddy Dole has voted for the bailout - out of spite alone. Since she didn't, I voted for Christopher Cole.

^ Huh? McCain made a good effort that one time at least, I give him full credit for doing the right thing.

Palin however made no attempt to calm her crazy crowds, and they really screwed up by chauffeuring Joe the Plumber to spout his idiocy.

On my way walking back from work today, a black woman walked across the street with her arms in the air screaming "TOMORROW WE ARE GONNA HAVE A BLACK PRESIDENT WOOO"

I looked to my left, saw another black guy - we both bowed our heads in shame and shook our heads from left to right pretty slowly.

it is ashame when they vote for Obama just because of the color of his skin - that's about as racist as it gets.
